Sorry.....after watching that puke-face Chrissy Matthews whining and still standing by his treatment of Michelle Maulkin(sp?) and that Oberman(sp?) Monday night I have a hard time watching anything on pMSNBC.

Scarborough, though, has shown the most spine (but that's not saying much).

They should bring up the most importsnt charge againt Kerry is that he met with the enemy whilr our troops were still in the field. O'Donnel didn't dent that was true.The part where he says Kerry was trying to save lives in his anti-war protests ignores the fact the protests caused the war to last longer .

As currently applied to the players I see on the stage, the term political strategist is a total oxymoron.

Kerry has harmed himself with his choice of campaign staff and strategy. He's too accustomed to dealing in Massachusetts. RATS that think they can duplicate Clinton's stonewalling and lying don't realize that that was unique to the individual and the particular point in time. If the party affiliation were reversed Kerry would have been toast weeks ago.

Why doesn't any news person think Kerry should simply tell the truth? Instead they advise Kerry to just blame Bush.

Fast notes while listening to show:

Pat made a statement that no one has before, "these guys are authentic" --I think he said it more than once. I know we all know that, but it is so nice to actually hear it being said. I know he has supported the SBV's right to speak out for some time, but tonight he talked about the winter soldiers and the meeting in paris and Hubbard as a communist, etc. Really got into it. I never used to like Pat -- but he's really a strong supporter of the SBVs so he has gained my respect. And he's read the book (more than once, and says he gets more angry each time). Says as to Cambodia issue, Kerry has been shown to be a complete fraud. Wants to get Gardner on to talk about the incident.

The other guy (Lawrence O'Donnell) is saying that the indiv. Swift stories are falling apart over last week when subjected to "journalistic standards", and that no addn'l veterans are coming forward against Kerry. Says all the medal stories stand per Kerry. He says SBV have given up on all attack avenues about the awards because they have survived examination, and all they have left is the Cambodia issue. Says Gardner was not present on any incident where Kerry got a medal.

Joe talks about Dole's comments. Lawrence says it is not true that John Kerry never bled, and that all the accusations Dole said were all false and that Dole knows that. He says the critical point is, how can a war protestor run for president and that Kerry has to explain why he was trying to save lives after he came back from the war.

Joe will have Bob Dole on tomorrow night. Lawrence says that Dole will NOT repeat again what he said because he's probably sorry he said it.

Joe said he talked to Gardner, and Gardner said Kerry lied to earn medals (played some video of Gardner saying Kerry lied - said he spent the most time with Kerry in Viet Nam.) Joe asked Lawrence how Gardner can have these opinions when he wasn't there at any of the incidents. Lawrence says, that's what these SwiftVets do... (this lawrence guy ...)

Pat questions the stories about the incidents -- raises good questions. I think he's in this for the long haul! YAY PAT !!!!

20 days is a lifetime in politics. That is how long this topic has been front and center. Kerry is crying foul and crying like a baby, but the dogs are not eating the dogfood.

The were the very 20-25 days that Kerry had after the convention to get his message out. He spent all this time hiding from the press and now is trying to outyell Howard Dean. He has accomplished nothing the whole month of August.

All the media and talking heads do not understand. Not only are we winning, we may have already WON.

Pat certainly is a strong defender.
However, they mixed up the Tribune article and the Bronze Star. He was writing about the Silver Star. Kerry said today that the more a lie is told, the more it is believed. That must be the new mantra.

Mary Speath is VERY impressive and doing a good job of exposing the Kerry campaign's habit of simply lying or making things up. She also said it's a priviledge to know the Swiftees.
