Typical demoncrap tactic of "shoot the messenger":

Kerry Private Eyes Digging Dirt on Swiftvets

John Kerry has recruited private investigators to dig up dirt on the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth in a last ditch bid to discredit the group in retaliation for damaging his image as a Vietnam War hero.
The Kerry investigators are "compiling incriminating dossiers on the members of the veteran group," reports the New York Daily News.

Story Continues Below

One target of the Kerry dirt diggers is Swift Boat activist James Zumwalt, son of illustrious Adm. Elmo Zumwalt, whose file was shared with the News on Wednesday.

According to the report, "a group of Democrtic loyalists" plan to paint Zumwalt as a drug abuser who once tried to kill himself after the murder of his ex-wife's fiance. The Kerry dirt diggers have also unearthed an ancient reckless driving conviction.

The search and destroy technique was widely practiced during the campaigns of both Bill and Hillary Clinton, who used "Democratic loyalists" Jack Palladino, Anthony Pellicano and Terry Lenzner to gather damaging information on witnesses.

Ex-Clinton staffers now dominate Kerry's campaign team.

It's not clear if Kerry's Swiftvet dirt diggers are being paid with federally matching campaign funds, another technique pioneered by the Clintons.

Mr. Kerry really is playing political brinkmanship.

He neglects to consider the possibility that the SwiftVets have dirt on him that they have been reluctant to reveal Wink

This is the kinda stuff that just makes me sick to my stomach. I really wish this would be revealed to the mass public, that Sen. Kerry has to go hire PI's to try to find info about extremely courageous vets. And Sen. Kerry has the NERVE to call the Swifts a "Smear Campaign". What a joke. Every day that goes by, Kerry stoops lower and lower, because he is getting in deeper and deeper.

Voters are concerned what kind of character Kerry shows in responding to the charges about his Navy record.

Let's see what happened. Kerry blamed Bush repeatedly and refused to give the Washington Post an interview for their article "Swift Boat Accounts Incomplete", which was published Sunday. That seemed bizarre behavior for someone supposedly trying to clear their record.

The Post also noted that Kerry refuses to make his original Navy records available to them. The Boston Globe published an article in March on how Kerry offered to make the campaign's copy of his full Navy record available to the media if they came to his campaign headquarters. The Globe took him up on it and said that a reporter was given access to the copies.

However the Washington Post wants access to the originals, but Kerry has refused. It seems very inconsistent with Democrats criticized Bush for not releasing his record. As Kerry's behavior become more bizarre in response to the questions on his Navy record, voters are no doubt wondering where is the "war hero" of 35 years ago?
