I just checked Amazon again (8AM PST), and now they are saying "Ships in 7 days". (Big drop from "Ships in 5-7 weeks")
That might fit in with a comment from Regnery in some other thread, that Regnery is printing as fast as they can to meet the demand and sent out a big shipment earlier this week.
I also went to my local Borders yesterday and asked for UFC. They said "Didn't you see the sign?" The sign said "Unfit For Command: Not in stock, but reserve your copy now!" It was their number 1 question from customers.
Yup, the demand is big and that's a wonderful problem to have. |

If some of you are waiting "weeks" for books from Amazon.com, and I can get 10 or 15 of them from Barnes and Noble here in CT just by driving a mile down the road, maybe something could be set up so that people in "high-demand" areas can place orders to people in "low-demand" areas where the books are readily available, so that the books get out earlier, as in BEFORE THE ELECTION.
I'll let the moderators be the judge of whether this is a good idea, but maybe people in "blue" (Kerry) states can check their local bookstores, and if lots of books are available, they can get on the forum and let others in high-demand areas know how many books are available. Interested people in high-demand areas could then place orders to residents of low-demand areas, who would then buy the requested number of books from a local bookstore, and sell them at cost (book cost + sales tax + postage). This would cut down the delivery time to high-demand areas, and get more books into the hands of people who need them most, ASAP.

Yes, Amazon now showing "ships in 7 days" AND a new lower price, dropped from $19.01 to $16.77...that should help boost sales too! |

Interesting--Barnes and Noble sells them for $25.97 plus tax, and there are about 15 of them unsold at the store near me. Amazon sells them for $16.77 plus shipping. Economics 101--low prices mean higher sales! _________________ The traitor will crater! |

I just checked Amazon and Unfit For Command is thier number one bestseller. Just for kicks, I looked on through the top 100 list to see where Tour of Duty or John F. Kerry might be on the list. I didn't find them at all. What I did find:
#42 My Life by Slick Willie
#79 The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
#81 Harry Potter #5
#82 To Kill A Mockingbird
#86 501 Spanish Verbs Fully Conjugated
I was surprised to see old classics like The Great Gatsby and To Kill A Mockingbird on anybody's 2004 bestseller list. I was glad to see My Life down so far. But I was really pleased to see that there are many more people interested in learning Spanish verbs that in reading about JFK. Nice. |
