I wasn't going to vote for him before all of this came up.
I couldn't believe the veterans was going to let him get awau with what he did after Vietnam. I didn't know about the medals. I just remember how much I detested him about the war.
Plus his liberal stand on everything |

Ink,
Absolutely not. The man is a confessed traitor, murderer, rapist, violator of US criminal codes, violator of dogs and cattle, violator on nearly naked boys (confessing to shooting one in the back), and therefore Jean Kerri is constitutionally ineligible to be dog catcher. If stupid is what stupid does and Kerry is voted in then we will have no president. Period. The White House will be occupied territory in the hands of enemies of this state.
Support him? I would support him over the trap door long enough for them to get the noose around his neck. That and only that. _________________ R.E. Gleason, YN2

I feel that John Kerry is the best Canidate for the job for the following reason.
He is the only person that 100%of Americans can agree with 50% of the time. _________________ What about John Kerry's four months in Vietnam qualify him to be president?
Al Gore was there for five. |

Man, I hate to say this, but if Kerry comes out of this Swift boat biz miraculously with his character and reputation damaged, but not fatally so, and redeems himself with apologies and demos of his reliability to hew to good character and presents clear vision to fix the problems, hypothetically, I would consider voting for him. (Not that that is going to happen)
I'd rather have a competent leader taking the country in the right direction with certain character flaws (Clinton), than a poor or visionless leader of sterling moral character (Carter, McGovern, Perot, Bush 1). I know the country would vote Clinton back in in a landslide if he could run again, or Reagan, if we could pull the 1980 vintage Reagan alive and kicking out of his grave.
I'd prefer many, many existing Generals, Governors or ex-Governors -Republican AND Democrat - over Bush. Dubya is a strong, divisive, narrow-minded leader of integrity who botched the Iraq post-war, holds no one under him accountible - Who is an unwitting whore to the neocons that serve another country's interests first over America, who wants to return America to a Christian Right 1950s-style ideal America, and is a radical, not compassionate conservative dedicated to further enriching the wealthiest Americans by shifting total government burden (state, local, Federal taxes and fees) away from them and onto the beseiged Middle Class.
Kerry is a Mass liberal, but he might not be the utter disaster Dubya has been on the growing reckless fiscal mess we are in, the tax cuts for the wealthy, loss of industry and high tech jobs, stock market losses, the botched Iraq post-war, the tremendous loss of goodwill towards America in almost every other nation. Of course, Kerry looks like he is a serial liar, has 3 more Court seats coming to put more Ginzburgs or Souters in, and he can't be trusted on National Security on top of that - something well beyond the "in the big scale of things" infidelity character flaws that FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, and Clinton had.
This election is the worse choice between two poor prospects that average Americans have been offered, since Ford-Carter.
Right now, I think I will hold my nose and vote for Bush - and hope that he doesn't have time in his next 4 years to concentrate wealth in the Richest 1% so much that he wrecks the dollar with the 1.2 trillion he has borrowed so far, 5 trillion in additional debt projected, borrows too much to fuel his rich cronies "tax cuts", and drug company corporate welfare - and in 4 years destroys the Middle Class and turns America into another Congo or Brazil of "haves and jobless or low-paying have-nots." Worse, a Brazil that every other nation hates....
I think there is enough time to clean up Bush's reckless messes starting in 2008. But Kerry is looking highly unsuitable as a replacement in 2004. Romney, Owen, Rendell, Powell - you guys have 4 years to get ready for one heck of a Augean Stable job!. (Sorry Jeb, no way will the country elect another Bush in 2008 even if older bro' Dubya grows in office and learns to fix more messes than he makes) |
