Ha. If Bush wins by 11%, he might get 450 electoral votes. 284 is a joke. |

Hmmm, you might be onto something with that diagnosis; consider this passage from page 244 of Tour of Duty (quoting Kerry's War Journal):
"I am so conceited that I do not believe the gods would create so potent a being as myself for so prosaic an ending." |

WHAT! Kerry was out on the road at 12M last night!
Are we talking scared and desperate? I think so. And now, rather than getting all the news time today, Kerry is pretty much overshadowed by the hurricane, the terrorists in Russia, and now Clinton’s up and coming by-pass surgery. The longer this goes, and Kerry has to compete with other news, the less impact he’ll have. Bet Kerry and his spin team are fuming.
Obviously, I’ve never been a Clinton fan, but I do wish him well.

Did Mr. C. have an early look at the poll, maybe?

Can you do one with the Gilligan's Island cast, and JeFfingK's face pasted over Gilligan's? Just a thought. |

Brainster, I don't know if this is true or you are joking, but I assure you that when John "Benedict arnold" Kerry looks in the mirror he sees something akin to a Greek God looking back.
Proof positive he is crazy. _________________ MACV '64...65

Dude, that's hilarious....
My 39 year old body is LMbehindOff over that suggestion...
I'll tell you what, I'll do one with Kerry's staff, all on the island...
We'll call it kerry's island, and I'll come up with some new lyrics too.
I thought about it earlier, but the image is SEARED in my head now...
Thanks for the Idea... I can't come up with all this stuff on my own....

Same here.......its very sad indeed!!. Before the swiftees I could chalk it up to ignorance, but now they know and they still want to vote for him. I thought this forum was "not" about president bush and people that don't support bush are welcome here. I didn't see any specific comment on bush in USA#1's post.

SONAR5 say's "it would not surprise me that Kerry might refuse to debate" That would be great but I don't see that happiniong. Kerry and his campaign know if he did that it would be all over. 59 days until the election so anything can happen. The pressure needs to be kept on Kerry with the hope that he really loses it and comes unglued.
As for the debates Kerry feels that this is one of his strong points.

Sorry if I was wrong. He seemed to be pushing Kerry' s favorable poll numbers from last week. couldn't seem to find the link.
Look at the George Bush Quote he chose to post.
Seemed like a Kerry defender to me.
I apologise if I was wrong. |

The one behind in the polls usually wants to debate early and often, simply because debates are randomizing wildcards where anything can happen.
And while Kerry has been seriously downplaying his debating skills lately, he was captain of the Yale debate team.
Those are have seen his '71 testimony know how powerful and articulate a spokesman he can be, particularly to those who don't know anything to the contrary.
Kerry will do well in the debates, I'm afraid. He's an excellent debater, and his back is against the wall.
W is not an excellent debater. We can only (and reasonably?) hope that people will see past the impressive or unimpressive (respectively) verbal skill set to see the man.
BTW, USAF66-70, your comment re Clinton is really uncalled for here, and I'd suggest a moderator remove it. |

Kerry only received a minuscule and hugely disappointing 2% bounce after the DNC convention.
His campaign insisted it was impossible for Kerry (and would also be impossible for Bush) to receive the usual post-convention bounce this year because most voters had already made up their minds.
The number of undecided voters was so small this year, it would be impossible to get more than a 2% bounce.
They claimed 45% were strongly for Kerry and 45% were strongly for Bush. There was only a small slice (10%) that both parties were fighting for. They claimed '04 was an unprecedented situation.
Let's see how they spin the Bush bounce (which they claimed would be impossible). |

They said that about the last election and how
Gore would take W's doors off. Didn't happen.
Also, remember 90% of Bushies support the
Iraq war, while only 10% of Kerry's side supports
the Iraq war, but Kerry has already come out
in support of the war, and that's not a good position
to be in--at odds with your own side!
(see a trend here?).
Even if Kerry had the skill of ten Clarence Darrows,
he's not going to be able to climb out of that box.

That electoral college result is definitely not reflective of the drop Kerry is experienceing. Hey, SwiftVets, did they send you guys through jump school? Because Kerry is going to need it. $5000 wind surfing boards will not help.
Go left, Kerry, go left. |
