Chris is in trouble and he knows it. MSNBC is tanking. I predict they will be off the air in 6 months. Chris hasn't changed his mind. He simply needs a job so he is trying to be a "good boy" so some other news station will hire him.

As infuriating as they can be, the talking heads on MSNBC, Fox, and CNN cannot rightly be charged with betraying their journalistic objectivity. They aren't journalists. They're, at best 'news analysts,' but more accurately, they're commentators. They offer commentary on current events. Their job is to speak from a particular point of view. They don't bring us the news, the headlines, the stories. They bring us the interveiws, which by nature of the beast, are slanted to the priorities of the interviewer. None of this excuses poor behavior, bullying, whining, or mis-representing the facts. It's simply to say that when Larry King or Chris Matthews or Sean Hannity or Dennis Miller declare their sentiments, it's completely appropriate for them to do so. They are entertainers, they are trying to build an audience base, so they can earn more money by raising the cost of a commercial during their time-slot. Bill O'Reilly is the only one who lacks the honesty and integrity to declare his bias. He is fooling no one but himself anymore when he claims he's just interested in the un-spun truth. He's a hack, like the rest of them, trying to appeal to as large a viewing audience as possible. When hissy Chrissy goes off on Michele M., part of his pathetic temper fit, sure, is driven by his politics. But part of it is driven by his desire to create a sensation that will draw viewers the next night to see if he will behave outrageously again. They're all dancing bears in a circus. And the fact is, we're watching them, at least enough to criticize their views! That's their purpose. We shouldn't get mad at them if they don't pretend to be honest newsfolk. We knew that before we ever tuned them in. Just like we knew wrestling wasn't real, right?

Don't hold out any hope for Chris Matthews. MSNBC is making a hard, hard turn to the left to capture the market share of liberals that generally watch CNN. They know that can't beat FOX. Take a good look at the panelists and show hosts. They are increasingly getting more and more liberal. Even Joe Scarborough looks like he just spent a week with the Queer Eye guys. Joe is becoming a new man. Metrosexual looks and all. He lost is glasses. Got his hair styled, microdermabrasion, cosmetics and all. A partial list of Joe Scarboroughs new playmates: Michael Moore, Jeninne Garafallo (sp?), Ron Reagan, Lawrence O'Donnell. C'mon. Joe has come out of the closet and it ain't conservative anymore. He just wants to keep his job with MSNBC, cable's equivilent of Air America. Write him off as a lost cause. Liberalism is like rabies and it's too late for the vaccine.

I'm not so sure a lot of these talking heads, as well as quite a few celebrities, are going to have careers to save. As the public finds out what Kerry said and did after the war, they are turning away in disgust. If enough people get enough of the facts, the setback to the leftists will be enormous. So we can't be content until everyone knows everything he did and said, and understands that we nearly elected America's worst traitor since Benedict Arnold to be CIC.
Since 9-11 , liberals have been giving lip service to supporting our military, and it's pretty hard to explain how you do if you defend someone like Kerry. This is going to leave a very bad taste in most people's mouths, and every face and voice that is remembered as having hyped Kerry is going to be associated with this disgraceful nomination for President. The networks and newspapers that want to survive are going to have to give the audience what it wants--balance. Because the internet and radio won't let them slant and omit anymore, without losing audience. There will still be liberals, but, being cowardly, a lot of them are going to shut up and try to melt in with the America loving majority. Even better, some minds are being changed. Some of them are going to be content to be Zell-ocrats, America-first but socially liberal. Maybe there will be enough hard core lefties to support AirAmerica this time next year, but I doubt it.
The whole free world is going to have no choice but to admit we were right and start seriously fighting terrorism. This school incident in Russia should prove that. European countries will probably do things that will make us look like we've been soft on terrorists. If it happens in time, before they can nuke the world into an ashheap, then we may see the Middle East democratised, after all.
We're finally going to have a chance to educate our society about what liberalism has done to it. Hopefully we'll see some plain, straightforward books about the left's effort to help our Marxist enemies finish America off after we abandoned the Vietnam front. An alternative movie industry will finally start producing honest films about Stalin, Mao, Korea, the Vietnam era, etc. Aware parents will demand honest history books in the schools, and conservative teachers will replace radicals as they flee/retire.

Maybe I dreamed all this, but it could happen--if we all do our part. Don't let your kids be ignorant, and don't let your friends be deluded. Talk about it. Don't think we've won until the truth is common knowlege. If they squirm, hit them harder. Tell everyone exactly what we almost allowed to happen.

I think Matthews is having a meltdown, but to spite this or maybe because of, his ratings have actually gone up considerably. He used to average a .3 or .4 (sometimes .5) but the last couple of months he's had up to a.8. I know I tune in because I don't want to miss the guys with the nets when they have to come in and take him away. One things for sure, if it's clear Bush is going to win big, I'm watching MSNBC on election night.

Anyway, he's the highest rated show on MSNBC, agree somethings happening to Joe - gone way to mushy especially on the Swiftboatvets, all he can manage are citations from the NYT.
