Quote:
In an angry statement from the Kerry campaign headquarters, Michael Meehan, Mr Kerry's senior adviser, condemned the navy probe as an expensive waste of the Pentagon's resources.

"The facts are clear," said Mr Meehan. "The navy awarded John Kerry the Silver Star, a Bronze Star with Combat V and three Purple Hearts. This is a waste of taxpayers' dollars and the Pentagon's time, especially during wartime."

The inquiry comes at the end of the worst week of Mr Kerry's campaign. The poll showing an 11-point lead by President Bush, to be published in this week's Time magazine, was taken during the first three days of the Republican Convention in New York, which featured repeated direct attacks on Mr Kerry as an unreliable candidate for the role of Commander-in-Chief during the war on terror.

Oh those mean old Navy guys. Going after that liar. Golly jeepers, what will they do next?

Just an FYI - I first read JFK's military records from a link right here on the Swifties web site - http://www.swiftvets.com/index.php?topic=KerryinVietnam

2 points of interest -

This web page has a link to JFK's records, so you can read 'em yourself. I have no idea if he's updated/removed, whatever.

Perhaps more importantly, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link called "Analysis of John Kerry's Fitness Reports." You will find a concise, informative, detailed page of information regarding HOW to read a Fitrep. This page will help you understand why Kerry's FITREPs, contrary to most MSMs who didn't do their homework, show him to be a marginal officer at best.

For the civilians out there, do yourselves a favor and see what you've been missing! Laughing

That's what did it for me - the Swifties were right about this all along....

Even if the Navy finds problems, it is unlikely they would publicize it or do anything about it before the election.

I don't look for anything but a whitewash i.e an inability to find any facts to overturn any of the awards.

It would take tremendous moral courage and certainty to overturn any of Kerry's awards even with hard evidence.

I doubt anyone involved will have that kind of courage.

Think about this...Would President Bush allow it?

Well i think Bush would allow it, Bush is a good dude but he strikes me as someone who doesnt like to lose and those daily personal attacks from Kerry probably peeve him to no end. Yes if the Navy does indeed find his awards to be not Kosher i expect they will publically expose him. The dems will scream bloody murder but thats their problem.

Neither Meehan nor Devine would know a "Fact" if it popped them one in the nose. I especially like the statement that Meehan made with regard to the investigation being a waste of taxpayers' money. Rolling Eyes

Sometimes it's like information overload, and we don't know what to check first.

Spectrout

I got the same thing the other day when trying to pull up kerry's site.

it was different than the 'real' site.... mostly pic of him in crowd.... the little pic on real site made very big and without the options on the left side to click to.... and it asked for sign in along the right side.... gave no option to 'skip sign on and enter'...... it's gotta be one of those 'shadow' sites .... be careful..... I checked here on forum and others told me his site had not changed to try again.... I did and got the regular campaign site and could enter without signing in..... I also had trouble with the 'award' pdf.... will check my version of reader.... thanks

Excellent point and superb question. But I’ve been thinking all along that Pres. Bush and the RNC have been giving Kerry and the dnc plenty of rope to hang himself and themselves. Excellent strategy!

I’m just a civilian, but I think that because Kerry’s awards issue is so public, they’ll push to do what’s right.

I know nothing of John Lehman except what I saw of him on the 9/11 Commission. Lehman takes “tough cookie” to an art form! However, my guess is that Lehman is NOT a happy camper with Kerry, or anyone, bantering about a citation with Lehman’s signature on it. When Lehman denies all knowledge of the commendation, and says, "It's a total mystery to me," and "I never saw it, I never signed it and I never approved it" someone is going to look into it, and quickly!

Do I think Pres. Bush will allow it? I don’t think it’s something he’ll be happy doing because I don’t think he gets any pleasure in seeing anyone falter, fail, or be humiliated. But our beloved Pres. Bush brought morals, courage, and ethics back to our White House, and he’ll expect the military to do the right thing.

Judicial Watch is an organization that doesn't back down. They will push hard and I hope they succeed. I don't see them backing off the issue.
