Forgive me if this has been discussed. I searched and was unable to find the information I am looking for.

Where might I find goverment statistics that would indicate number of medals issued to any one veteran within any four month period in any war? I am obviously searching for legitimate information since I find it difficult to believe that 5 medals in 4 months is common. I have also not seen this topic discussed in the media, which is a bit surprising except that after several weeks of my questioning Kerry's legitimate award of these medals, it just occurred to me that it seems rather unreasonable to think that anyone could achieve this kind of recognition in just 4 months.

As I said, I'm sorry if this is old news or discussed to death.

I find the question interesting too, and will add an easier one:

How many Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, and Purple Hearts, total, were awarded to people in the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force in Vietnam?

I am wondering as to the extent of medal inflation.

It would be interesting to know this about individual Swiftvets, too. Kerry got a Silver Star and a Bronze Star for his five months for what seems perhaps commendable, but routine service. But did *every* Swiftboat officer get a Silver Star and a Bronze Star? Is it possible Kerry is below average?

I am interested in a related topic:

How many purple hearts, Silver Stars and Bronze stars were awarded to crew during the 4 month period that Kerry collected 3 purple hearts?

I am interested since if he was in such close action to get three purple hearts, presumably his crew who were in more exposed positions would also have been awarded.

No one else on the skimmer or PCF-94 were wounded on the dates that Kerry claimed to have been wounded. that is on 02 Dec 69, 20 Feb 69, or on 13 Mar 69.
