Would that he could, but I don't think that Clinton's doctor(s) are going to allow that real soon. A coronary bypass isn't a ticket to any activity that will cause excitement or exertion until some healing has taken place. Clinton will not want to go against his doctor's advice in a case where his ability to get over the procedure is at risk. My guess is that Bubba will be out of the picture for awhile. |
I hope you are right. Past experience tells me that the most dangerous place to be is between Bill Clinton and a TV camera.
Yeah, the first week of recovery will keep him out of the picture. But don't forget there will be daily updates to the press about him, as well as a steady stream of politicos who will stop by to visit him, then come out to make political statements. After that, we will see him daily as he recovers.
The left and the MSM can't get enough of him. Their true desire is that he was still the President, if the Constitution allowed it. _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

So do I! I hope you noticed that i couhed my remarks in terms of "it's my guess", and "I think", and nowhere do I say that I know.

That's true, but comments from visitors don't have the impact of a direct remark from Clinton. Plus, the press coverage of his ordeal takes attention away from F-ing, and that has it's own rewards.

The Clinton machine has stepped in for one reason and one reason only: to ensure that when Kerry loses (which they must ensure at all costs) he doesn't take the whole party down with him.
Neither the media, the Kerry capaign or the Clinton's have any control over the Vietnam/post Vietnam issue. They do not control the agenda. the Swift Vets do.
There is not a media blackout here. They media has at least begun to realize that they can't stonewall without potentially casuing themselves great and everlasting damage.
If you believe the Clinton's believe Hillary is due the White House then you have to know that they can not allow Kerry to win and risk him being a two term President. Besides, Hillary wants to rule the world, and not one plagued with radical Islamist terrorists.
The debate must shift to the VVAW and the entire anti-war movement that Kerry was intimately involved with as an underscore to the War on Terror. His recent comments indicate he learned nothing from the past and is doomed to repeat it. _________________ "What our enemies have begun, we will finish,"

Integrity -
You've hit the nail on the head! With or without the Swiftees, you can be pretty sure that the Clintons would exert enough control to insure a Kerry loss. They must insure this, with minimum collateral damage, to be able to run Hillary in 2008.
They can't run her in '08 if Kerry wins this year, unless he makes some major screw-up during his term. Ergo, they must insure that he loses this year, preferably in a close race.
I expected the control to come in the form of an October Surprise of documented dirt on K., which would be attributed to Republican Dirty Tricks but actually come from the Clinton camp. With the migration of Clinton people to K.'s campaign, the control could be much more subtle.
I can picture Carville doing a Maxwell Smart imitation "Missed it by *that* much", with a big grin on his face.
Regards

Wishful thinking for every action their is a equal or greater reaction and the debunking of the VVAW & the 1971 senate testimony has 33 years of pent up energy behind it. Kerry has no control over the new media like he did the old. The old media might do a cease fire but we will keep firing away with the new media & the old media will be forced to get back into the fight.
