You forgot one.
Someone made a "strawman" purchase with the intent to present a modern firearm to someone else without the recipient filling out and signing an ATF Form 4473.
That is a MAJOR no-no! _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

Cipher,
That's why I hedged with the goobly gook about paperwork. I've been out of the gun toting business for awhile. _________________ son/nephew/freind/seabee/subs/swiftvet |

Oh. Well, you probably don't live in a "gun a month" state.
You get to buy a gun a month. No one likes it, but it's the law. _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

This would only be a "straw purchase" if Kerry paid or otherwise provided services to the giver in exchange for the shotgun. There is no Federal waiting period; the FBI's NICS (National Instant Check System) can validate the transaction over the phone (usually). The buyer had to pass the check; not Kerry.
The only problem that I see here is that the Remington 11-87 (I think) that he was given would be one of the first guns to be banned after the so-called Assault Weapons. Kerry did, in fact, co-sponser a ban on semi-auto shotguns with "pistol grips." The way it was worded, anything but a straight grip semi-auto shotgun would probably have been banned.
IMHO, John Kerry is the only "hunter" in the entire United States that wears blaze orange as camoflage. _________________ Bye bye, Boston Straggler! |

.....and then at a rally Cheney says (paraphrased) "well if you elect our opponents, and then there's another terrorist attack, they will deal with it as a police action." And Edwards comes out yelling today: "Cheney said if you elect John and I and there was another terrorist attack it would be your fault!!" or "Cheney said if you elect us it would cause another terrorist attack" -- whatever -- waaagh!! there was so much angry whining I don't know exactly what point he was making, but it was NOT what Cheney said. Edwards is going nuts over a mythical attack!
Yet here we have an unstable Kerry making jokes about bringing a gun to the debates -- do you suppose Bush will come out tomorrow yelling that Kerry wants to shoot him?? I'm going to bet you if he says anything at all, it will be a joke. (Such a difference in maturity, to say the very, very least....) When I looked at Drudge today and saw that picture and that caption, I didn't know any of the story being discussed here -- all I thought was, what a very, very strange thing to say..... |

He's trying to hunt amongst traffic cones and orange barrels? |

He's trying to hide amongst hunters.
His true colors match those of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Ted Kennedy. _________________ Bye bye, Boston Straggler! |

I think Hannity said Kerry was like a chameleon put on a plaid tablecloth.

you gotta be...
The problem with your theory is that if he hunted in NJ, the drivers here would definitely mow him down. _________________ son/nephew/freind/seabee/subs/swiftvet |

Now there's a thought! Any chance of convincing him that blaze orange is the perfect camouflage for hunting on roads under construction?
(I just thought that Kerry dressed in blaze orange would resemble a giant traffic cone, which was the reason for my original comment.) |

You'd have to put cow horns and udders on the traffic cones and paint them black and white so they look like deer.... _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

Still
Good One, twodogs!
from a former Rock Springs, WY resident!!
I can't imagine Kerry hunting in WY or in WV!!
If he got lost and thought he was in Cambodia,
what will happen to him on the endless desert landscape of WY
or in the 'jungle" habitat of WV?? _________________ Laura~ |

When this was brought to Remington's attention, the President of Remington made it clear he doesn't support Kerry:

My husband and I shoot trap, and these Dems are out to eventually take away all of our gun rights. It's really bad in California.
I found a gun site last night that has a picture of Kerry with a shotgun, of course being handled improperly, and a shell is flying out hitting him or almost hitting him in the eye. Someone titled it, Kerry's 4th purple heart?
Kerry should not be handling a fire arm without eye and ear protection. His PR about being a hunter or sportsman is so silly! And he is out to take away our gun rights, same as all the rest of them. |
