A bit off topic -
Dick Norris's presentation to the Commonwealth Club was played on NPR a few weeks ago - it was a terrific speech and is posted on the NPR website. Among other things he said that Kerry hates the Clintons and the Clintons hate Kerry even more - Kerry is part of the liberal elite north easterners who treated the Clintons like trailer trash (fancy that!) when they descended on Washington. Norris said that the Clinton strategy is to run Hillary for Pres in 2008 (makes ya wanna barf...) against a new Republican candidate. If Kerry wins this one, he will be the incumbent Demo in '08 and Hillary is S.O.L. so the Clintons are strategizing how to kill the Kerry effort without seeming to. Norris predicted that the Clintons would find some way to avoid campaigning for Kerry, to in truth undermine his efforts while appearing to support him. And not 10 days later Bill Clinton is off the Kerry campaign trail for the duration. I'm not saying he faked heart surgery - but if you listen to the commentary from his doctors, aired in great detail on NPR, you will find all kinds of hints that the heart condition was known some time ago, and the timing of the needed surgery was manipulated to accomplish the Clinton's real objectives. OK, so you hate NPR. But it's improtant to know your enemy - so suck it up and go to the NPR website for that Norris speech. Amazing stuff. |

Dick Norris or Dick Morris?
Dick Morris' book, "Re-writing History" - about the Clintons - was a real stunner. Add to it "American Evita" and you have the equivalent of a political horror story.
Moving this to the geedunk in a bit, but just wanted to say that I do listen to NPR sometimes - but the fact that they are subsidized by the government which they would clearly (to me, anyway) like to overthrow in favor of a socialist democracy just rankles.
"All things considered" is especially bruising to the psyche when you're a staunch capitalist.
