From Houston:

We still have an IBM selectric in the office. I powered it up and typed a bit.

The Letter Gothic ball has no smaller superscript "th".

Interestingly, the repairman's sticker and phone number was on the machine. I called, just now. He was working on one when I spoke to him. He said positively, no ball he has ever seen has had a "th" together. He said, too, that it can't work as there are no keys on the typewriter with a "th". I suggested the 1/4 or 1/2 (which is available) could have been a substitute key if the ball had a "th" or "st", he said no.

He mentioned that NASA approached him, years ago, to see about symbology (math symbols etc.) balls that could work. He couldn't help them with that.

From this alone, I'm pretty convinced these documents are suspect.

It is rather convenient that the person, whose personal files are purported to be the source of these documents, is no longer alive.

First of all, you guys and gals are friggin awesome. What a display of teamwork!!!

I did not notice, but did anyone contact Hugh Hewitt? He's one of the guys who remained on the bogus Cambodia story for about 3 weeks. I think he would love it. He can be reached at: hhewitt@hughhewitt.com

The guy is a huge Swiftee supporter.

Medics, we're there when you need us. Cool

Has anyone contacted a professional document evaluator or do I have to do it?

Let me know!

I called a professional document examiners office in Atlanta this morning and was told they could not take any cases unless they were presented to an attorney. I then wrote to Ben Ginsberg in Washington D.C. with Baker, Boggs and Patton. I asked him to check on it but we all need to write to Ben Ginsberg. Send everything you have to Ginsberg and ask him to have it tested by a document examiner HE trusts.

Do you think his family is still around and, if so, would they appreciate the use of their father's name for forgeries?
