A lot of people don't use the internet (like my parents). Loan people your copy of the book, buy the book for a friend and tell them to pass it on. Short of cash or time? Then print out just one of the many stories here and attach the snail mail address of where to send a donation. Even if each of us could just take one person at a time and arm them with the facts, that would really help. Fan out people, this isn't about politics, this is about the truth. |

You have identified a GREAT and possible goal...at least one contributor for every name on the Wall.
That would make a fabulous press release when it happens! |

I welcome you big money folks to join us grassroots people in supporting this very noble cause.
Just because some of you may think highly of President Bush and may have supported his campaigns does not cancel your right to support other worthy causes.
This is America - people can support whatever cause they believe in.
And I think I can speak for everybody when I tell you we do not discriminate against rich people here!
Hell, I plan to be a millionaire too, in my next life.
You millionaires are just as welcome here as anybody else as far as I'm concerned, so email all your other rich friends and tell them they better get with it before they lose out on this opportunity.
In fact, here's a slogan for you to use.
"Keep up with the Joneses and keep Kerry out of the Whitehouse."
And just to back up my words, you can also tell them I'm making them this limited special offer.
For anybody who donates $500,000 or more from now through October 15th....
I'll buy and mail them a free deluxe Swiftboat Vets bumper sticker for their Lamborghini! |

I think the site is wrong. The report is probably for a period ending much earlier than 9/09. Probably something like 7/31/04 which would make sense as to the amount of money raised at that time. _________________ On Sale! I don't know how often the requirements are for disclosing financial reports - they could be monthly or quarterly. From then, it would take time to get the reports from the agency that collects them and put them onto the web.
John O'Neill was questioned about this at the Commonwealth Club of CA presentation and he said that their little organization had literally been flooded with donations - 50,000 almost all at once. They reported the large donations immediately, even though they were not legally required to do so, but they're having trouble keeping up with the bookkeeping.
I do know that a list of over 53,000 donors was released to someone, because a newspaper criticized the less than 1,000 donors who sent more than $100, as if those 600-700 "rich people" donations somehow made this a less than truly grassroots effort.

I'd like to see a comparison between the Swiftee 53,000 and the Movon number. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |

I certainly cannot speak specifically for the Swift Boat Vets, but usually there are several reasons for a gap:
Date Received vs. Date Reported:
Most groups have a lag in time between when money is committed to them - when they actually receive that money in their accounts -when they receive confirmation of that receipt - when they generate the paperwork needed to report it - when they next file their report.
Example: Sue makes a donation online on 9/10, the group has that money moved into their account on 9/13, they receive confirmation of that deposit on 9/17, they process that confirmation on 9/21, they enter that paperwork electronically on 9/23
No matter how large or small, this process must be done for every donation. The time lag is greater with a larger the number of donors, so groups like the Swift Boat Vets will have the longest lag (since the backbone of donors are folks like me with $25).
What is interesting is that they have gone 'above and beyond' what is required for reporting, not many 527's do that! But I would be shocked at anything less from the Swiftees...

Oh thank you...thank you...I really needed a laugh tonight and how right you are with that statement
