I think this is a good and telling read. Apparently the MSM is pissed at CBS for daring to fake what everyone already knew...that Bush gamed the system for the Guard and didn't fullfill his duties before he left. Utter BS!

But I think they are realizing that attacking Bush's Guard service is now a dead issue, so they attempt to get their licks in on Bush, push the knife into CBS, and turn the attention to the rest of the campaign before people wake up and demand a congressional hearing on the matter. After all it's only an attempt to influence a presidential election by a major news outlet using forged documents... Rolling Eyes ...no big deal really...did you hear about that hurricane?

Were the tables reversed, and obviously forged documents implicated the democrat, you would see a completely different reaction from the MSM.

They would be all over this like a an SP on an aircrew member who broke red...

It is rather disgusting to contemplate.

The Times is so far left, it's amazing it isn't somewhere off the coast between LA and Santa Catalina.

That "smirk" was what is called a wry grin.

It is born of the shared confidence and respect of the men and women he was addressing. Born of comaraderie and understanding of what that group represents. Born of experience and knowledge of exactly what those soldiers feel deep in their hearts.

It is a profound and deep expression of having once walked in their boots, worn their uniform, eaten their chow. Of the uncertainty of not knowing when or if they will be given orders to go overseas and put their lives on the line in a far-away land; going to war based on the premise that freedom for everyone is a fight worth the effort and the potential of having to pay the ultimate price.

That "smirk", that ironic half-smile, is something John Kerry will never be able to share with those who wear the uniform of any of the armed forces of the United States. John Kerry could have had it, but chose instead to betray the trust and confidence of the US Military and the American People for a chance to become their elected leader, their Commander in Chief and President of the United States.

The LA Times and John Kerry do have the cold comfort of the support and admiration of the leftists, fanatics, and zealots. John Kerry's picture has an honored place on the wall of the People's Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Perhaps someday, his picture will be on the wall of an unmapped cave in the mountains along the Pakistani border, or some bombed out spider hole under the desert sands of Iraq, respected and admired by sensitive, misunderstood Islamofascists whose only regret is the man who was re-elected to be the President of the United States was not interested in fighting a kinder, gentler war.
