More from the Washington Times--The embodiment of the feeding frenzy depicted in the cartoon--

http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20040914-114033-1234r.htm

With any luck, the announcement will be the revelation that the source of the forged memos was Terry McAuliffe himself--But as fortunate as I've been in this life, I doubt I'll ever be that lucky--C

I think they will admit the memos might be forgeries, that they might have been duped, but that the important thing is the content of the memos is true, according to Killian's secretary, and that they are standing by the allegations in the memos. That will NOT fly as there will still be no original memos to document their claims, but I see this strategy possibly coming down the pike but it won't work for lots and lots of reasons. Just a thought.

And the Washington Times cartoon is GREAT! Laughing

That sounds like about what I expect. It'll be up to the blogsphere to keep the pressure on if that's the case because a lot of the liberal media could start a new mantra:

"Hey, CBS admitted that after a complete internal evaluation the documents are probably forged, so that part of the story is over, let's get on to the real story Bush's service."

Rush just said the Wall Street Journal is reporting CBS' announcement today will be more evidence to support their ******** case (I added the '********' part).

Seems we may already have the first half of that 'evidence'

It's like they are in quick sand. The more they move, the deeper they sink.

So . . . what are they saying? Don't have access to tv here at work (not that I'd tune in to watch CBS . . . haven't watched it in years and we're only watching that round-the-world treasure hunt thingie [miss that gutsy dwarf!]).

The only.......and I mean the ONLY......thing that CBS News could possibly do to salvage one iota of their credibility would be to reveal the source of the documents and allow them to try to prove their authenticity--And that, of course, is only operating on the assumption that it wasn't an inside job in their shop--

Their credibility is already toast, so they'd have little to lose by doing so and it wouldn't hurt them any to sorta make it clear that if any source burns them, all bets are off and CBS News won't hesitate to burn that source right back--

They'll never do it, of course--Nowhere near that much spine in the MSM--C

PS--What's the delay????--(Not that I mind, of course--Fox is showing a Swiftees ad even as I type this--LOL!!)

The American Spectator has talked to an inside source (Rush mentioned this.. here's the story)

http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=7114

An insider at CBS says CBS may announce that they were duped by the... wait for it... wait for it... the Bush campaign! I'm sure many of us knew this was going to happen, but for them to mention something lik this they would almost have to reveal their sources.

"60 minutes" has a new policy. From now on they're going to spend at least 60 minutes verifying their stories.
