Just heard Ollie North on Hannity and Colmbs say Kerry got a cool welcome and a number of people got up and walked out. I think he said 200 walked out.

Hundreds walked out!!!!! YES! No wonder he had no smiles giving his speach. Anyone want to bet on if it will be reported on MSM? _________________ DenisC

The MSM will never report hundreds walked out. MSM will do nothing that might hurt Kerry.

Yeah, I listened to a little bit of it -- but switched over to watch Hannity. Will be replayed on C-Span tonite, I think at 11:40pm CST. The part I listened to, it sounded like he was speaking in a vaccum chamber -- there even seemed to be a faint echo -- you could, honestly, have heard a pin drop. All one heard was Kerry talking -- seemingly to himself. |

MSNBC wouldn't pan the audience and didn't report their reactions. it was very clear they didn't want anyone to see his poor reception.
CNN reported a "luke-warm reception". no mention of walk-outs |

Just got to see the Late night replay of Special Report with Britt Hume and they showed the crowd about 4 times. Boy talk about a tough room. Those NG guys and gals did not look happy at all, and Kerry looked like he could not wait to get out of there. The look on his face was the look of defeat. _________________ 6 Year Navy |

[quote="neverforget"]I just saw Kerry give his hands clasped in prayer mumbo-jumbo when going on-stage at NG Convention. What a jerk.
anyone figure out who he is praying to? the VC gods? _________________ Stevie

CNN reported a "luke-warm reception". no mention of walk-outs | On NBC Network TV there was about 5 seconds showing the not happy looking vets for kerry (none clapping, most looked very pissed) and contrasted with Bush's reception. But like I said, it was only like 5 seconds. |

Yes, Hannity said several hundred walked out DURING his speech and said he received a cool reception at best. Way to go NG!!! Think he would like to retract his attacks on the National Guard? There are a lot of friends and family tied to those people. The MSM is still not willing to show what the military thinks of JFKerry. I'll bet he kept the engines revved on the jet for a quick get away.
DID HE WEAR HIS MEDALS AND SALUTE THE TROOPS? |

The News Hour on PBS had a relatively long clip of Kerry's NGA address.
They panned the audience at several points.
The atmosphere could best be discribed as GRIM.
The Army members looked like they wanted to call in an air strike.
The Air Force members looked like they'd enjoy flying the mission.
The Navy and Marine members looked like they had similar thoughts.
Not that I ever remotely considered voting for Kerry, but I'd at least like an opposition candidate with some intelligence.
Kerry used his "Backdoor Draft" concept in the speech. This is the NG "Association", a voluntary organization. One would think that the majority of the convention attendees like being in the guard. There were many uniformed 0-4s and above in the audience. One would think that they would have a high opinion of the guard.
What kind of an idiot goes before this audience and commits ritual suicide while running for the highest office in the land? |

Sounds like Kerry desires to be nominated for another award (or medal)?

Naw, he wouldn't be qualified. He's created offspring, hasn't he? The whole point of the Darwin Awards is that the gene pool is not further contaminated. In Kerry's case, it's too late. _________________

Maybe one of those guard member that was there could register here and give us a blow by blow account?
I saw the audience on FOX and I thought the members looked like they had been told their dog was run over an dead.
Looked like a funeral layout. _________________ Mad as Hell! |

Somebody please help find published evidence of a walk out or pictures of the faces at the NGAUS...anything.
I'm looking and I found these bits of coverage which make me go "Ugh!"
First, from
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20040917-9999-1n17kerry.html
"Kerry said afterward he wasn't disappointed by the reception.
"A lot of people came up to me afterward and said, 'Boy, I'm voting for you, I'm with you, you told the truth, and that was important to have the courage to come here and do it,' " Kerry said in an interview with Las Vegas television station KVVU. "
Second, is this twist from
http://www.airforcetimes.com/story.php?f=1-292925-359212.php
"Among those choices are whether benefits for members of the National Guard and reserves should be on par with those provided for active-duty troops. Kerry said his plan includes Tricare health benefits for reservists every day they serve, “before, during and after mobilization, end of story.”
The crowd gave the Massachusetts senator a standing ovation for that remark, and applauded him for several others. Bush, in his speech to the Guard Association, likewise said he would improve Tricare, but wants to limit it to 90 days before troops report to active duty and 180 days after they are de-activated."
Granted, I am picking the worst stuff out of the stories...but this clearly does not jibe with the comments you guys say you heard on Hannity & Colmes. Where is the truth? |
