McCain and anyone else that wants to blow wind can cry all they want, I have had enough of this hypocrite BS, I really don’t care if HE thinks it should not be discussed, Every American Citizen has the right to discuss anything the damn well want to, whether HE likes it or not. If the issue is important enough for that person to want to find out the truth who in the hell is McCain or anybody else to tell them it is not important. Sorry to pop your bubble McCain but your past does not make you more important than the Honorable Men that are the Swift Vets, or any other American citizen for that matter.

I, too, admire his service and know that he experienced things as
a POW that we can only imagine. As a politician, I do not have
much use for him. When the Republicans needed to be united
against Al Gore in 2000, he chose to feed his ego by running
against GWB. He has been a thorn in Bush's side in the Senate
during Bush's entire first term because he can never be counted
on to be a loyal Republican. His sponsorship of the first law that
directly contradicts the First Amendment was it for me. As others
have mentioned, his dismissal of the Swiftvets and his failure to
condemn the CBS fiasco and Move-On's latest ad is VERY telling.

P.S. When I posted this earlier I had not yet watched McCain's
"performance". I recorded it and am listening to it right
now. He just commented about needing "boots on the
ground". For all of his military expertise, he does not seem
to realize that the war in Iraq is being fought in a completely
different way that any other war in our history. The US
military could quickly destroy any army that would line
up and fight "the old-fashioned way". This enemy fights
the way we had better be prepared to fight in the future
because they know that it is the only way that they have
a prayer of winning. I think that our military is doing a
great job of adapting to a situation they did not really
expect. It makes me so angry to hear remarks like
McCain's and to read the snide comments of others
like Hackworth!

I'M A CONVERT. THOUGHT I LIKED
HIM...BUT I JUST READ A LETTER IN
ANOTHER THREAD THAT OPENED MY
EYES! Shocked

Senator McCain

Sir, I just have one question for you. What make you more important than me? I would really like to hear your answer to that. You don’t think that anyone should talk about Senator Kerry’s history in the military, I think they should. So what makes your view so much more important than mine? I happen to think that Senator Kerry’s military record is very important in the debate as to whether or not he should be President of the United States and lead our military. Whether true or false makes no difference in this discussion, because I think they have shown enough information to back up their claims against Senator Kerry. Enough information to warrant a further look into the matter. Everyone against the Swift Vets say they are lying, but no where have I been shown what they are lying about, all I hear is it’s a lie, and on almost every point when someone has said that it is a lie, it is shown to me that more than likely it is true what the Swift Vets are saying.

Most of the time when some cries dirty politics is when its against the person they want to win, or it is about them. I openly support the Swift Boat Vet’s and President Bush, and I for one am glad that I live in a country that gives them the right to speak out in what they and I believe is the truth. You don’t think anybody should speak about someone’s military past, so I must conclude that you don’t think it is important. That Sir is utter nonsense, what if someone was a deserter? I guess you don’t think that would matter? What if someone had committed war crimes? I guess you don’t think that matter either? What if someone had used the military system of honor for their own gain? I guess you don’t think that matters ?

You say it doesn’t matter, I say it does. So I ask you again, what makes you more important than me? What makes you more important than the Honorable Navy Veterans that served with Senator Kerry. These men are not just someone who walked off the street and started saying these things. These are the same men who worked and lived with the man. These are the same men who know what could of happened or what did happen. They are just as credible as Senator Kerry and more credible than you in this matter.

You say they are dishonorable for stating their view, you have publicly came out and said this. I sir think you are the one who is dishonorable. You attack them for their views but no where have I seen you attack Senator Kerry or his campaign for their statements about President Bush’s military service.

So yes, I will openly call you dishonorable for this. For the way I see it, you say you are campaigning for President Bush, but every time I see you talking it sounds like you are campaigning for Senator Kerry. So like I said before, most of the time when some cries dirty politics is when its against the person they want to win.

On a last note, I also call you a hypocrite, because I seem to remember that you have played a little dirty politics in your past also.

And Before you put this off as a right wing attack, I will let you know Sir that I have been a Democrat all my life, but that will be changing after the November election. And I’ll be damned if I will vote for a traitor and a coward.

Good Day Sir

This letter will be sent first thing in the morning, I do not want it going by e-mail for I will sign my name just as John Hancock signed his.

This is a key point to the Kerry/McCain brotherhood.

The criminal (in my opinion) actions of that 1992 POW senate inquiry which Kerry chaired, and McCain participated, with Kerry's cousin and Colliers, getting the the big contracts.

Very stinking fishy!!!

I Think McCain has spent to much time with Kerry, he has become another one flipping in the wind, taking both sides of issues. He has forgot one important FACT, SWIFTIES and us other PISSED Vets did not start this fight. John Fake Kerry did. None of us wanted to reopen those old scars, How do you ask someone to be the last one to be a war criminal for John Kerry.

I haven´t had much use for McCain for years. Too many
issues and contradictions to go into, but the guy is puzzling
and has been for a long time.

Ýet, he seems to be the darling of the press.

He claims to be the ¨straight talker.¨ Yet, he´s a zig zag
thinker. He´s also not a straight talker when it comes
to live POWs left behind, and on many other issues.

His support of Kerry years ago is one of the
more puzzling aspects of McCain. Kerry caused a lot
of grief for POWs, which McCain was one of. Then much
later the two come together to sweep living POWs under
the rug and normalize relations with Vietnam.

UNFORGIVEABLE.

In one interview I listened to he let the host pooh pooh the
U.S. Military Code of Coduct. I expected McCain to correct
the host (believe it was Hannity on his radio show) but McCain
said nothing about how important the Code of Conduct was
during his POW days and how important it is today.

Just my thoughts

I watched the program. McCain didn't do any favors to Kerry.

McCain said again that Kerry's actions after he came back from Vietnam were "fair game".

Kerry isn't the first man to lie about his combat record for political purposes. But Kerry's betrayal of this country after he came back from Vietnam is what makes Kerry unfit for political office. Even Arnold (no, not the weight lifter) didn't try that. Remember that if Kerry's charge of war crimes committed in Vietnam with the direct knowledge all up the command structure is to be believed, the highest ranking officer was McCain's father!

McCain did say that he had made his peace with his service in Vietnam (as most of us have) and that we should focus on the present danger. He thinks that Bush is too timid in Irag, not exactly what the Kerry people want to hear.

So don't be too hard on MaCain and remember that he may be the darling of the press but he still graduated near the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy. There's probably a reason. Very Happy

McCain is a marginal Senator at best. He is a war hero, but his skills in office are 2nd rate. I would think he would be working on fixing his campaign finance reform act which is a miserable failure, besides giving his marginal tacticians advice on what is going on in Iraq.

While McCain is a TRUE war hero, that does not change the fact I would not want to be under his leadership on the battlefield. I don't think his skill set was ever related to understanding the large picture.

On Fox McCain said all of this is just reopening the wounds of VietNam for veterans. Who does he think reopened those wounds - none other than the anti-war John Kerry who is now doing the exact same thing stirring up opposition here at home to the war in Iraq as he did with Viet Nam. Just like before, he is helping the enemy in their propaganda efforts by invoking negative comments about the war while they are fighting our soldiers. Just like before, he is hoping to secure political office on the same issue of cutting and running from a war.
