Something has definitely happened. It has become clear to these MSM people that someone with 830,000 book readers and other obvious evidence of enormous numbers of followers (emails, talk radio) is no longer to be marginalized, or at least not condescended to.

The response to the whole subject of thie new ad (Kerry in Paris) has been pathetic. Matthews, not O'Neill, framed the reality in a question: "Did Kerry prefer the VC and the North Viets to his own country." Answer, O'Neill; - "Yes."

AMAZING! That IS the MESSAGE. And Matthews stated it!

The fact that Kerry switched sides, as opposed to protesting the war, must be rammed home. The fact that he openly and specifically advocated the enemy's public position as stated by them in Paris must be rammed home. He "adhered" to them, not to us, in the terms of the Constitutional definition. The fact that his prior treason was the basis for his defamation the U.S. military must be ramemd home. The two facts were not unrelated - they were co-dependent.

This is a big tipoff that they know Kerry has lost. They know it is over, and they know damn well why.

> Maybe Chris has seen what is happening to CBS...

Maybe Chris has figured out that there won't be any
Kerry Admin White House Press Secretary job for
him to lobby for, and that he'd better adjust his
present day job for the next 4 years.

Frankly, until he apologizes to Malkin, to her face,
on air, things are very far from turned around.

O'Neill was excellent as always. But, I think even he was caught off guard by the tone of the interview.

I can't for the life of me figure out what happened.

Why did Mathews do such a big about face?

I dont think people see Kerry as finished yet.

I would love to see the polls the campaigns have access too.

Corporal punishment still works.

Zell gave Crissy a spanking, and now he's being a good boy for awhile.

But he's a problem child - he'll need another spanking soon enough.

Kerry is an overtly dirty fighter. But, neither Kerry nor his swamp of alligator political hacks has a fraction of the intelligence and gravitas of Karl Rove. Karl will simply arrange for them to devour themselves. He will watch quietly from his observation deck as they wrestle in the mud for the last piece of red meat which ultimately will be John Kerry's a**.

I think the change in Chrissy started just after Michelle was on... maybe they got enough emails then to warn chrissy to be nicer.... then the Zell thing! yeah for Zell.... I just love how he stuck up for Michelle !

I've been wondering if the msm networks don't have 'fair' and 'balanced' programs - like they don't.... basically, all for Kerry, might seem to be more part of the Kerry campaign than a neutral news program....

I could be wrong, but it sounded like Matthews had finally read Unfit For Command. Or has been in a meeting with MSNBC warning him about his antics and the fallout at CBS.

We are reading 'Unfit For Command' we are talking and they can't shut us up Mad

Most of all they cannot stop our donations to SwiftVets to keep the ads about Kerry on the air....

I think Chris' wife has gotten to him. She is an anchor on one of the local newscasts here in Washington, DC. My guess is she didn't take too kindly to him being so disrespectful to a woman regardless of her political views. Verbally abusing a 95 lb. woman via a suprise attack does not go over well here in the liberal PC community. Zell just further drove the stake into his heart with his comments. Whenever one of his guests mentions Zell's duel remark Chris just gets this embarrassed look on his face and changes the subject.

All this is possible, but I think the simple reason is this:

Matthews now thinks that Kerry is going to lose and he needs to cut his losses.
