Lowell Sun Endorses Bush I found it on www.littlegreenfootballs

A few days ago all the wire services were trumpeting the story of the Lone Star Iconoclast, a Crawford, Texas newspaper with a weekly circulation of 425, because it came out in favor of John Kerry.

I doubt we’ll see the same burst of media coverage for this powerful endorsement of President Bush from a Massachusetts newspaper with a much bigger circulation, the Lowell Sun: Endorsement: George W. Bush for president.

We in Massachusetts know John Kerry. He got his first taste of politics 32 years ago in the cities and towns of Greater Lowell.

In his 20 years in the U.S. Senate, Kerry, a Navy war hero, hasn’t risen above the rank of seaman for his uninspiring legislative record. He’s been inconsistent on major issues. First he’s for the 1991 Persian Gulf War, then he opposes it. First he’s for the war in Iraq, then he’s against it. First he’s for a strong U.S. defense, then he votes against military weapons programs. First he’s for the U.S. Patriot Act, then he opposes it.

Kerry’s solution to stop terrorism? He’d go to the U.N. and build a consensus. How naive. France’s Jacques Chirac, Germany’s Gerhard Schroeder, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan and other Iraq oil-for-food scam artists don’t want America to succeed. They want us brought down to their level. And more and more, Kerry sounds just like them. In a recent campaign speech, Kerry said America was in the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

No doubt John Kerry sincerely wants to serve his country, but we believe he’s the wrong man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Americans should think back three years ago to the smoldering ruins of the World Trade Center. There among the mist lay the images and memories of fallen firefighters, police, a Catholic chaplain and ordinary working citizens moms, dads, sons, daughters.

President Bush, through heartfelt tears, told us never to forget the twisted carnage and the massacre of the innocents. Yet some of us are forgetting.

President Bush told us the attacks must never happen again. Yet some of us are wavering because of the brave sacrifice of soldiers that our nation’s security demands.

Well, President Bush hasn’t forgotten. Nor has he lost the courage and conviction to do what is right for America.

We know if there is one thing the enemy fears above all else, it is that George Bush’s iron will is stronger than his iron won’t.

The Sun proudly endorses the re-election of President George W. Bush.

Anyone taking odds that OYT will report this as they did Bush's Crawford Texas home town paper's endorsement of Bush? A Newpaper with a distribution of 452 which has now had advertising cancelled by 12 businesses. How many advertisers do they have? 14?

An email to the OYT regarding the importance of balanced reporting might be good for a laugh if copied to "real" news organizations.

That is a great article. And who is in a better position to know John Kerry than the newspaper that saw his flimsy roots take hold. Unfortunately, you will never see this picked up by the lame leftstream media. I bet Sean Hannity won't let it slide though.

The dems are now calling Kerry's references to a global test "lies". That phrase is getting a little worn out. Nobody knows what they are saying. I suspect they will be quick to label the Lowell Sun a partisan hack newspaper selling lies also.

One little bit of info wrt the endorsement by the Crawford (Gutter) Crawler you might find interesting: since endorsing Kerry the circulation of the paper is now down from 425 to 5 (five). This includes the publisher, the editor, the two guys who wrote the editorial, and one crazy guy that lives in a drainage pipe on the outskirts of Crawford.

Also, the local businesses have stopped allowing the paper to be sold in their stores and cafes, and have pulled their advertising.

That little Crawford paper (now nearly extinct ) is also run by a man who ran twice as a DEMOCRAT for state office and LOST. Becha never heard that in the MSM!

margie, it was in the San Antonio Express News, so I called a friend from Crawford, and then I got all the low down, like how the guys that wrote the editorial have been shunned at the local cafe, etc. I mean, there are just so many places to grab a sandwich in a place like Crawford, you know? Thse guys are going to have to drive to Waco for a cup of coffee, at this rate.

You know, George Bush is the President and all, but he really is "just folks". The people of Crawford consider him their friend and neighbor, as well as their president.

Some day I will tell you how the good people of Crawford,Texas, treat the assorted Michael Moore types that try to set up protests in Crawford when the president is at his ranch.

I'm sure Bush's other hometown paper - in Midland, Texas - will get the same glowing nationwide coverage when it endorses Bush.
