Fox News is posting link to George Soros website instead of factcheck.org

Fox News is posting link to George Soros website in the factcheck.com reference.

It should be factcheck.org

Here is the link:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,134573,00.html

-----------------------------------------

Updated.... apparently this was Cheney's mistake and Fox got it right. I would think that if they would have corrected the website link being referenced, though. Since he obviously meant factcheck.org

Someone's hacked FactCheck--Try this:

Enter www.factcheck.org in your browser and press enter--It gets re-directed--

Relax--Fox did nothing incorrect--C

CandiM,

You are WRONG.

Fox explicitly in the debate article posted factcheck.com
NOT factcheck.org.

That is the idiocy of the person typing the article or a purposeful mistake.

It's Foxnews that did it, I just went to Factcheck.org and had no problem reading the article about Halliburton. Everything else was pro-Kerry, it seemed, but the Halliburton article is there, as Cheney said.

I also sent Foxnews a scathing email about this breach of what they deem "Fair and Balanced."

Will wait to see if they correct it or not and apologize.

I went to factcheck.com a little while ago and I got your standard this domain isn't developed search type page and realized it should be factcheck.org which i typed in.

I think that Cheney in the debate said .com and i think that someone who works for soros picked up on it, registered the name /or it was already registred/ and did a standard redirct to soros site.

Pretty slimy.

Cheney did say factcheck.com. It's in the transcript.

Yes, it pisses me off that Cheney said factcheck.com and not factcheck.org. Slimy democrat tricks also piss me off. They are doing the same thing that they did to your website (by creating www.swiftboatvets.com)

dmackto,

You're correct, Cheney did say factcheck.com. And I think you are exactly right about someone redirecting it very recently to Soros' site. Very clever of them, wrong, but clever I must say. I dont think FOX is to blame a great deal for this, since it is what Cheney said, but anyone really looking into it would recognize he said something about Univ. Pennyslvania afterward, and realize they had the wrong site.

Cheney did in fact say .com. However, I'm sure Foxnews has people much more savvy at computers than I am working for them and could have and should have double checked the url before posting it.

It's not unusal for either man in a debate to misstate a word.

I didn't have access to the transcript until later or TIVO... So I wasn't able to confirm. It is funny how they correct Edwards misstatements in some of the transcripts, but leave the wrong website that Cheney mentions. Fox is not at fault, but should have corrected the problem and linked to the website Cheney meant.

Don't some of the people on this forum have contacts at Fox? Maybe a call can get it corrected.

Whoa folks - stop and think about it for a minute. Has Cheney ever misspoke on something really important?

Now consider this - his referral gets redirected to an obvious and published left wing-nut. Think of all the people that will go there and see what Soros REALLY is, a deceiving dupe.

Mistake? Perhaps. BUT, I consider it excellent strategy to show how some of the more radical elements hi-jack a "good" website with a deception Smile

Bingo! Neither Bush nor Cheney do anything accidently. It's always for a reason and it's very understated. True masters. The Kerry/Edwards camp plays right into it. You cannot just pay attention to what's on the surface. Just remember, there's a whole undercurrent flowing here that's very subtle, but will be very effective. I thought Cheney was fantastic!
