I spoke with my wife over dinner re the Kerry phone call from or to Chris Reeves.
She is a nurse, we were both unaware that CR had a cardiac arrest on Saturady. We were aware that he had systemic sepsis or severe infection thoughout his body. I said Chris Reeves spoke to Kerry on Saturday. She looked at me funny. "I don't think it's possible to have a coherent conversation in that conditon," she said.. I agreed having worked in long term care for 12 years. This type or severity of infection causes fever, coma, delirium, hallucinations, seizures, and mulitple organ failure. I doubt Chris was even able to speak. It can take weeks and months with multiple antibotics both oral and IV. All of the previous symptoms can be exacerbated by medications to treat the infection. _________________ What about John Kerry's four months in Vietnam qualify him to be president?
Al Gore was there for five. |

This was all I could find and it doesn't say they talked..just a message...but still I am amazed he left a message for Kerry before he leaves for the hospital..

He was in a COMA in RESPIRATORY ARREST before he went to the hospital...he was NOT making phone calls.
The film and audio of Kerry LYING about this phone call was seen on Shepard Smith's Fox Report TONIGHT.
So now he has lied TWICE. Once on a stump speech in NM and once to The Herald. Good Link!

Ah, come on people. Don't you know that Kerry probably communed with Reeve after he was dead? God is working through Kerry to let us all know we must vote for him so we can get "real" stem cell research going. _________________ Sister to a Marine vet who served in Vietnam and proud of it.

It is interesting to me that anyone that's had a serious illness, such as pneumonia, could believe Kerry. I didn't know what was going on for 3-4 days until the meds finally started knocking it out.
Reeves didn't have a heart attack out of the blue, he had systemic infection that shut down his heart. That means he was in serious pain, etc before his heart went.
Yet, they spin it like he was fine and then all of a sudden, had cardiac arrest so that it "Looks Like" Kerry could be telling the truth.
What bothers me the most is that when Kerry is caught lying or cheating, the people who point it out are targeted. We are chastized for having the integrity to point out the lie.
This whole election, and Kerry, is like being in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

You got to laugh a bit on this. Just think. Every time Kerry opens his mouth he sinks himself even further. By the end of October, he will look so crazy, only the craziest Bush haters will be voting for him.
I saw Edwards do the same thing today, proclaim Reeve as their friend, blah, blah.
To me they just look sillier as time goes by.
Talk about desperation. This is really bad now using dead people to get votes. I'm starting to laugh hysterically the more I think of it. _________________ Sister to a Marine vet who served in Vietnam and proud of it.

Steve Malzberg WABC RADIO just had on a Doctor who said that she didn't believe Kerry told the truth about the "phone call".
She said that he would have been in too much pain, no exuberance, strength. Repeated almost exactly what Balloon and his wife said.
It's outrageous that this MENTAL MIDGET would use a dying man for political gain! Scum _________________ PROUD wife of Army ASA Vet - 66-70

it would seem to me that if Reeve's called Kerry (not likely) and then after talking to Kerry Reeve's goes into cardiac arrest, and then a coma and dies.... then is it not possible that Kerry killed him?
Frankly, If I had to talk to Kerry on the phone I'm sure my blood pressure would be at dangerous levels.... |

It does seem odd, doesn't that after "talking" to Kerry, Reeve goes into cardiac arrest? Do you think Kerry had him fill out an absentee ballot before he passed away? That could have been real rough on his system.
Now, that a doctor says this was most likely not possible to talk to Reeve, Kerry is going to look like a big fool. Just another foot into it. He keeps doing it to himself. It gets funnier and funnier. _________________ Sister to a Marine vet who served in Vietnam and proud of it.

As noted on polipundit, there are several versions of the story of Christopher Reeve's illness and death.
So, did they have a long talk or did Reeve leave a message on his voice mail?
Quote: | Kerry saddened at death of 'Superman' Christopher Reeve - Yahoo News
Mon Oct 11, 3:13 PM ET U.S. National - AFP
SANTA FE, United States (AFP) - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) hailed Christopher Reeve as "America's hero" and vowed to drive on the dead Superman actor's crusade for stem-cell research.
"Let me say a few words about the loss of a man who was truly America's hero, and my friend, Christopther Reeve," Kerry told supporters in Santa Fe, New Mexico, hours after Reeve died after nine years being paralyzed from the neck down.
"He was a great, engaged and creative spirit, he was an inspiration to all of us.
"Without leaving his wheelchair, he was able to make great strides toward a cure for conditions like his," Kerry said.
"I know that one day we will realize Chris's inevitable dream."
Kerry has often cited Reeve's name on the campaign trail to bolster his promise to tear down what he says are the Bush administration's restrictions on embryonic stem cell research.
Such research may according to some activists, one day lead to a cure for a host of diseases and conditions including spinal paralysis.
Kerry said the last time he heard from Reeve was on Saturday, when the actor left a message on his cellphone, enthused by the Massachusetts senator's decision to raise stem-cell research in Friday's second presidential debate.
Reeve was one of the country's leading actors when his horse threw him during a riding competition in Virginia. He suffered two broken cervical vertebrae and damage to the spinal cord that left him unable to breathe without a respirator.
Reeve was best known at the time for his leading role in four "Superman" films in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
He went on to become an outspoken advocate for controversial research with embryonic stem-cells which has become an issue in the US presidential election.
Bush allowed federal money to be spent on research using only existing stem cell lines. Kerry supports broader stem-cell research. |

October 11th, 2004 - According to sources close to the actor, Reeve died Sunday. The actor fell into a coma on Thursday after going into cardiac arrest at his New York home.
Reeve is best known for portraying "Superman" in the late 70s and 80s. He also wrote and directed programs for film and television.
In June of 1995, Reeve broke his neck after falling from a horse during a steeplechase race. He was left paralyzed from the accident.
In more recent years, Reeve became a strong advocate of spinal cord research. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live Presidential debate as senator John Kerry spoke of stem cell research.
Reeve was 52. |
No mention of a phone call at all in the script for his planned remarks in NM:
Quote: | Text of prepared remarks - press release - 11 OCT 04

Before we begin, let me say a few words about the loss of a man who was truly America's hero my friend, Christopher Reeve. Teresa and I were deeply saddened to learn of his death, and we send our prayers to his loving wife Dana, his children, and his entire family. Chris was an inspiration to all of us. Without leaving his wheelchair, he was able to make great strides toward a cure for conditions like his. His tireless efforts will always be remembered and honored and in part because of his work, millions will one day walk again. As Chris once said, "So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable." I know that one day we will realize Chris' inevitable dream. |

Christopher Reeve Passes Away

Christopher Reeve flashes a smile during a press conference on Capitol Hill in 2003.
"Superman" actor Christopher Reeve, who turned personal tragedy into a public crusade and from his wheelchair became the nation's most recognizable spokesman for spinal cord research, has died. He was 52.
Reeve went into cardiac arrest Saturday while at his Pound Ridge home, then fell into a coma and died Sunday at a hospital surrounded by his family, his publicist said.
In the last week Reeve had developed a serious systemic infection from a pressure wound, a common complication for people living with paralysis. He entered the hospital Saturday.
Dana Reeve thanked her husband's personal staff of nurses and aides, "as well as the millions of fans from around the world."
On Shepard Smith's FOX REPORT you will hear the quote from Kerry that Christopher Reeve called him on his cell on Saturday to chat.
I KNOW NOW that the DNC and the Kerry Kool Aide drinkers troll this site for inside info but I got news for you.....
in the words of the CURRENT AND FUTURE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES GEORGE W BUSH..
"He can run but he CAN'T hide!"
WE GOT HIM FOLKS.
LET FREEDOM RING.
With no disrespect for Mr. Reeve, after all our work in these past months, it appears that "Superman" came in at the last moment and saved the day. The elite news media will go nuts over this.

Maybe the phone call with Kerry is what killed him. Sorry.
It is sad that Kerry would use "his friend" in such a horrible way. But did any of us actually expect honorable behavior from Kerry? |

Excuse me --- but maybe Reeve did call in his confusion -- Kerry did not "raise" the issue ... he was answering a question which pointed out that no cures have come from embroynic stem-cell research --- but cures and research milestones have be discovered in adult stem-cell research. |
