News About Zarkawi Arrest (Security) [Mashriq Newspaper] (17 OCT)
Summary: American diplomatic sources in Jordan said yesterday that US
troops in Iraq will soon test the DNA of a main suspect to determine if he
is Zarkawi, an Al Qaeda leader in Iraq. The suspect was arrested with
others last Friday in Fallujah. They were planning to attack Americans who,
with the ING, were preparing to attack the city. The sources said that the
CIA is testing for the identification of this suspect who said he is from an
Arab country and came to fight against the Americans, and is now being
transferred to the BIAP. The test results are expected to be ready within
two days.

Was Zarkawi Arrested? (Security) [•Al Mada Newspaper] (17 OCT)
Summary: American officials in Oman have stated that they have arrested
someone in Iraq whom they believe is Zarkawi. They also stated a blood test
must be conducted to make sure it is him. He was arrested in Fallujah on
Friday night. He was preparing, with his group, to attack American forces
in order to attempt to control Fallujah. He confessed to American forces
that he is Arabic and came to Iraq to fight the occupation and Iraqi forces.
He also confessed that in the last few months he has conducted many attacks
against American and Iraqi forces. Coalition forces arrested 100
terrorists, including Arabs and other foreigners, along with some Iraqis in
Fallujah. The Americans stated that the suspect was taken to the airport
and he still there to have the blood test to check his identity to confirm
whether or not he is Zarkawi.
