Anti-Kerry Film Showing Canceled

October 19, 2004 — The Big Story on Action News is a politically motivated film furor Tuesday night in Jenkintown. Supporters of George Bush and John Kerry went nose to nose Tuesday night in Montgomery County, and neither side had any intention of backing down. Nerves are fraying at the edges, and there are still two weeks before Election Day.

The emotion of this politically charged presidential election got the best of some people. People who came out to see the anti-Kerry film, "Stolen Honor" were already upset that management of the Baederwood Theater cancelled the showing after threats of civil disturbances. Ultimately the anger reached a higher level when Bush supporters clashed with Kerry supporters.

Dan Sweeney/SOMERTON:

"Did you see what he said in the senate? Did you see that?"
Bill Perry/LEVITOWN, PENNSYLVANIA:

"If you'd shut your mouth we wouldn't be arguing (slur)."
Sweeney: "What (slur)?"
Perry: "Give yourself a try. Come on. Hey. Hey. Hey coolaid."

Abington police had to move in several times to keep ardent Kerry and Bush supporters from coming to blows. This after the documentary "Stolen Honor" which was to debut to a sellout crowd of 600 people was cancelled."

Joanne Dalbey/WARRINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA:

"It denied me the right as an American citizen to see a movie that every American should have the right to see."
Ryan Sweeney/SOMERTON:

"I think it's terrible, I think it's ridiculous that they're gonna shut this down and at the same time they're gonna show Michael Moore the day before the election."
The producer of the film blames Kerry operatives for shutting down the showing of the film.
Carlton Sherwood/FILM PRODUCER:

"The underhanded coercion and intimidation tactics of John Kerry, here's my reaction, what is John Kerry so afraid of with this documentary?"
Kerry supporters were pleased the showing of the film had been cancelled.
Bob Fields/READING, PENNSYLVANIA:

"We don't believe it's an honest movie. Doesn't honestly state the positions of what he did."
"Have You Seen The Movie?"
"No, I don't I have not."

Once again, police had their hands full...
"Go back to Hollywood and Michael Moore, go ahead."
"I live In Levittown fool. I'll stay here as long as I want to."

"You think so?"

"I know so."

"You gotta get a lot more weight to keep up with me son."

"You think so?"

"Yeah, I'll knock you right on your butt pal."

Incidentally the Kerry campaign claims they hadn't anything to do with the movie not being shown here. Refunds were given to those who had bought tickets and the producers gave out DVD copies of the film for them to watch at home.

One of the 527s with money to spend should do ads advertised as Clips From The Movie kerry doesn't want you to see. Show the koolaid gang protesting and trying to prevent the showing of the film.

When it's banned, it becomes more hot and even more people want to see it. Curious is good.

This can be turned into a huge positive.

Some 527 should buy the time on a national cable channel and broadcast the movie in its entirety...I am guessing that a 3 am time slot comes pretty cheaply, and no doubt a few news stories about this "controversial" movie will get us all to set our VCRs and then loan the tapes out to our family and friends!

maybe some of this will get on the news..... Sinclair could use it as 'news'

I hope that is what they are doing since they've decided not to run the movie due to the voilence and threats of the liberals....

they are going to 'include clips' into a news program about the biased media.... maybe hitting two birds with one whistle..... er stone....

oh yeah, I'm adding Sharon Stone to my do not watch movies list....

Legal action should be taken against the movie theater. The people that they are calling "Bush" people were there to see the movie, the other group that was there to disrupt things was not within there rights to disrupt the showing. The problem arose when they were denied entry into the theater. This created a volatile situation and could have been easily avoided by allowing the ticket holders to enter the theatre. This is a prime example of successful terrorism.

First Kerry threatens to sue to keep Swift Vet commericals off the air.
Then Kerry threatens bookstores to keep Unfit for Command off the shelves
Then Kerry (supporters) cause a movie from not being shown in a movie theatre...

And the Republicans are suppose to be the party violating civil rights?

One observation for all the Dems and Independents on this forum: Looks like the Democrats(liberals) are the ones seeking to deny Constitutional Rights.

It was banned because Liberals don't like it and they are myopic. It's only good if they like it. You gotta remember, these people have the mentality of children and want their way or no way. They see nothing wrong with F9/11 and everything wrong with SH and SBV&PFT.
