Robert Bowie Johnson, Jr. wrote letter to Kerry about how he (Kerry) stole the leadership of VVAW and pushed it to the left (Fonda) crowd. There is also a link to letter Johnson wrote to a Professor at Holyoke College who lied about being Vietnam Vet. Pretty interesting letters. |

From the letter:
Quote: | During the democratic convention, your flagrant boastful show of your "heroism" gave the impression that you had been a man in the thick of combat, when in fact, you had been a man on the very edge of it, all the while slyly conniving your way out of it. Instead of "Reporting for duty," you should have said, "Derelict in my duty." I marvel at your pomposity, and at the astonishing facility with which you present your phony war record as fact to the American people. |
Quote: | The truth is you faked combat wounds in Viet Nam, and your actions were devious and self-serving. You were a "Purple Heart hunter," just as the Swift Boat Vets say. Narcissus was an actor, and so are you. |
Quote: | Your conduct goes far beyond dereliction of duty. You betrayed your comrades in Viet Nam; you betrayed the trust of antiwar veterans, and now your self-fabricated credentials and continued lies contaminate the political process. |
Robert Bowie Johnson, Jr was an early, pre Kerry, leader of the VVAW

(Washington D.C., December 1-3 1970)
FindLaw has picked this up too.
Quote: | Mr. Johnson is a 1965 graduate of West Point and an airborne ranger infantry veteran of Viet Nam who served from March 1968 March 1969. |

Wonhyo,
Given that the VVAW was founded intentionally on Ho Chi Minh's birthday, See Here , and that the founders were radical leftists then and to a large extent still are, The Players , it seems disingenious to claim that Kerry steered the organization to the left. The VVAW was from the beginning a front organization for the psy-ops war against the United States by the Soviet Union, in support of the North Vietnamese war effort. _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

At one point, VVAW was "intervened" (taken over) by the Socialist Workers Party (SWP). It doesn't make it more or less left, but a different orientation. SWP is more Trotsky as opposed to Leninist. I wonder if John Fn. Kerry was a trot? Trots are more "direct action" oriented demonstrations etc. Sounds like Kerry fits the bill.
These factions are all redder than Rudolphs red nose so it doesn't make a rat's @$$ difference to me.

High Priority message for SVBT, J-2:
Eureka, this is what we've been waiting for! Mr. Johnson is someone who has intimate knowledge of Kerry's post war treachery. Have you noticed that the only real "band of brothers" Kerry has are the treasonous, unrepentant slime in the VVAW that have covered up for him such as George Butler, Joe Bangert, et al.?
Now, there is a golden opportunity to approach a former vvaw leader who appears to have had second thoughts.
Someone with a lot more visibility than me needs to contact Mr. Johnson to see if he is willing to confront Kerry in a more public way. His voice against Kerry, revealing inside discussions within the VVAW, could be devastating. Among others things, Mr. Johnson disputes the authenticity of Kerry's in-country record and he states that Kerry turned the group more towards a radical bent. Mr. Johnson was also involved with the vvaw at a pivotal time in that organization's development -- he was there during Dewey Canyon III, may have been privy to the meetings in Paris, and may even know more about the infamous Kansas City meeting.
Someone please pass this info up the ladder.
This could be the "October Surpise" that we have all waited for.
His letter, on the URL posted earlier http://www.solvinglight.com/kerryletter.htm, provides his e-mail address.
Please follow up on this.

DDFT...this is one gift horse whose mouth you BETTER look into. Beware of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".
VVAW "Alumni" are incensed at Kerry's attempt to disassociate himself from their despicable organization. We don't need this Chomsky-loving individual's statement of the obvious to skewer Kerry. |

This particular gift horse could be of the Trojan variety.
I was so glad to see his statement when I first read it that I fired off a thank you note to him.
Oh, well - at least this guy is eating into Kerry's base - attacking him for not being "left" enough? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I wonder if he has any interesting photographs of Kerry from the early 70s that he would be interested in sharing with us.
Pictures don't lie. |
