Just In........
A Rutgers group along with Mercer Cty. Democrat has filed a lawsuit attempting to BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING EQUIPMENT in all of New Jersey.
If successful...........could throw NJ into a complete state of CHAOS!!! _________________ PROUD wife of Army ASA Vet - 66-70

Oh joy! Keep it up, Democrats. No longer content to steal elections AFTER they happen, the Democrats have now moved unto Phase II: pre-emptive theft.
I am tellin' ya, there will be significant backlash from election weary voters for these theatrics. _________________ The last refuge of scoundrels is not patriotism; it is finicky liberal humanitarianism.--Martin Paretz |

Hmm... NJ is solidly Kerry for months and the electronics are all assumed to be perfect.
Polls start showing that far from a "done-deal," Kerry is having trouble holding that ground and that the President is gaining and suddenly, the equipment is faulty.
I'll bet that Kerry is going to lose some more ground over this - maybe even a full percentage point or two. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Most of us have been using this equipment since the Florida Fiasco!
We never had a complaint with our "punchies" yet even in my little rural area they spent all that $$$$ on brand new equipment. Just think--our unsophisticated farming community was capable of PUNCHING THE VOTING CARD............. go figure
This can cause HUGE problems within this state especially now that we're BATTLEGROUND
and our sign was stolen last night!! Never has this been a problem in our conservative area {should I get my Rottie ready?} _________________ PROUD wife of Army ASA Vet - 66-70

NAVY X3
They never used the word "faulty"
I PRAY that good, hard working New Jersians become offended in a big way over this. YET, how many will learn about it? I have a feeling that this will NOT make MSN here. _________________ PROUD wife of Army ASA Vet - 66-70

Well, this New Jersian has now heard about it. I will try our local TV station. In my county Hunterdon we have electronic. My friend in the next county objects to the "primiive" voting in her county of Warren, paper ballots and you have to use pencil to fill it in. How easy can that be changed?
Up here in Northern NJ, tho, you would be hard pressed to find a Kerry sign. _________________ The eyes are the window of the soul! |

on what grounds are they saying they should be banned?
Florida, NJ....have they started this in PA yet? Look out Ohio - their experiment with the British Guardian crap didn't go over well and they are looking for something new. |

My hunch is they will claim the equipment can't be trusted because it was made by a company that has contributed to Republican candidates in the past.

They should know, it was one of their thugs on the tv news, after the almost fight in Jenkintown PA, saying Stolen Honor should not be shown. His UNISYS company put in a bid for the new voting machines in Florida (I don't think he got it).
******** are digging their own grave. I see a huge backlash from the American public. |

I was frantic trying to find pen & paper, LOL
Mark Levin on WABC radio read the press release tonight.
{Edit}
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/19/nyregion/19voting.html
Quote: | "The right to vote is simply too important to not try to get some sort of court intervention to protect it," said Penny M. Venetis, a law professor with the Constitutional Litigation Clinic at Rutgers University and the lawyer representing the plaintiffs in the suit. |
http://news.com.com/New+Jersey+lawsuit+challenges+e-voting/2100-1028_3-5416938.html
Quote: | At its heart, the complaint--a draft of which was provided to The New York Times--will ask the State Superior Court in Trenton to block the use of nearly 8,000 electronic voting machines, because they "cannot be relied upon to protect the fundamental right to vote."
More than 3 million registered voters in 15 of New Jersey's 21 counties are scheduled to use the electronic voting machines, |

Since the polls are showing Bush within striking distance in NJ is it no wonder that they are pre-empting the vote? _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |
