Anyone familiar with Col. David Hackworth and his site, SFTT.org (Soldiers for the Truth)? Back when I was serving during the Clinton era, Col. Hackworth was a sound voice for truth. Back then, he stuck up for the GI's and advocated for improved benefits, better equipment, etc. All the while, criticizing Clinton and Defense Secretary Cohen for their piss-poor defense policies. Just recently, I paid a long overdue visit to the site and to my disbelief, the site's message board is inhabited by Kerry-supporting "veterans". Any mention of support for the Swift Vets would be immediately struck down by these "vets". Quite sickening. What happened over there? _________________ USAF:

Hackworth IS a bleeding heart liberal, I do not take him seriously and neither should you. _________________ Regards,

Huh. And I thought that I was the only one who doesn't have any use
for Hackworth. Don't read him anymore, and turn to Cartoon Network
whenever he comes on Fox. _________________ Tin Can Sailor |

Cartoon Network is definitely more interesting AND entertaining than Hackworth(less). _________________ Regards,

Hackworths biggest fan is himself. As a two tour 0311 I'm a little suspicious of these overdecorated veterans. I cant figure out they did all that stuff and lived. I'll take one USMC 0311 over 10 Hackworths and Kerrys anyday. Semper Fi. |

Brian-
Cartoons offer more substance and are probably more in line with reality than the drivel pandered by Hackworth.
His Vietnam anti-war sentiments in the early 70's (while still on active duty) closely paralleled those of Kerry and Fonda the c**t. Why an individual with such a distinguished military record in Korea and Vietnam would take such liberal views totally escapes me. He might have earned a "2 tick" CIB but I honestly feel that somewhere in the middle of his 5 tours in-country he went south and lost touch with the majority of us who fought a grunts war.

Hackman was ridiculously harsh on RADM Mike Boorda, the man who appears to have killed himself over the fact that Newsweek was just about to release his records showing that a couple of Boorda's decorations were not in order.
He left a note indicating that he couldn't face the shame. It was a great loss to the Navy - Mike Boorda never forgot his sailors - he came up through the ranks from E1 and was much admired by all the sailors he ever worked with.
The remarks that Hackworth made over Boorda's wearing unwarranted decorations were terrible.
Only to find out that;
1) Mike Boorda had been entitled to wear every decoration in his rack and that it was his paperwork that was out of line. And;
2) Hackworth had long worn a tab that he was not entitled to wear - an exposition that merited a thin apology in response.
Hackworth can shove it. I'd never trust him on anything, ever. He could tell me the sky was blue and I'd still have to check for myself. He's another Kerry - will say and do anything to promote Hackworth and to hell with everyone else. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Yeah. The ADM Boorda suicide was where I went south on Hackworth.
He just doesn't have anything to say anymore that I want to listen to.
Now I take it as a matter of faith that officers earn their medals, but
still, I take a lot more notice of a high medal on an enlisted man.
Especially a low rated enlisted man. _________________ Tin Can Sailor |

hack ain't all bad. He, at one time, subscribed to scrapping currently military training for the army and espoused training 'em like Marines are trained. _________________ U.S.M.C. - 1969-1971

I have to join the chorus on Hackworth. Today, he wouldn't make a pimple on Audi Murphy's arse.
...is it OK to say "pimple"? |

I believe it is time we thoroughly checked out Mr. Hackworth. I have thought he was a fraud since I first read his shameless self-promoting drivel -- a Raider indeed. I'll lay you odds he is a sham -- for what real soldier could say and do the things he has said and done? _________________ JEFF WHITE |

Hello Folks,
This is my first post here (I am a long time internet message board participant, I am just new to this forum).
I thought I should let you know that I learned of this message board from a message posted on another message board.
The folks who posted the link to here are Hackworth fans and none too pleased with your combined analysis and opinions.
I figures that since they have posted a link to this thread, someone should have the courtesy of returning the favor and posting a link to the thread where all of you are being discussed.
Cheers!

I'm sorry - I can not see a real veteran supporting John Kerry except out of ignorance. The case is so unambiguous. The guy is a traitor! I mean, how can they miss it, but by not having read his testimony, and having not watched the direct evidence in film? _________________ JEFF WHITE |
