Honest Question:
I keep hearing how people who are voting for Kerry, are really voting against Bush.
Why do those who "hate Bush" hate Bush?
What about Bush do they hate?
What specifically has Bush done to make them "hate" him?
Honestly, I have never gotten any straight answers.

In 2000 they were Al Gore supporters. Bottom line is they are just hard line democrats that have no power and want power back and GW Bush is standing in the way of that. |

Let's see:
1. He's not a democrat
2. He beat the VP of a two term Demo pres in a tight election
3. He's not a Democrat
4. He cabinet is more racially and sexually diverse than any Democratic one
5. He's not a democrat
6. He is willing to judge and tolerates the judgement of others, and that frightens those who are afraid to be judged.
7. He's not a democrat
8. He's gotten the opportunity for a legacy that Fair Haired Clinton "should've" gotten.
9. He's not a democrat
10. He's self confident enough to make a mistake but not self loathing enough to dwell on it or let it hold him back from trying again. _________________ No man's life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.....Mark Twain |

Good questions, Barbie. Unfortunately, the answers will depend on just who you ask. I stopped worrying why a long time ago and just accept that they do and as far as I'm concerned, without adequate reason.
The vitriol directed at Bush is unprecendented in my lifetime. A lot of it goes back to the 2000 election with Gore winning the popular vote, but losing the electoral college. What they fail to find out is that this wasn't the first time and if it were reversed, I have no doubt they would fully support the electoral college then.
A lot of them are whipped into a frenzy over the Iraq war. They fail to realize that it is just as necessary as Afghanistan was. Some are deluded into thinking that if we leave terrorist alone or pull out of any support for Israel, they will leave us alone. The extremely left leaning media doesn't help matters with their slanted reporting.
Ever since the left lost power in Washington back in 1994, they have been plotting a return and it appears they want to accomplish it at any cost today. Idealogues think their pet theories will make the world better, but they haven't really explored what the world is actually like, just their own secluded existence being protected and born into the most free society every in history. They take it for granted and just don't understand that some in more structured societies hate us for that freedom and the wealth that it brings.
Bush is the figure head for them to hate. It really wouldn't matter which conservative was elected in 2000, he would be equally as hated. Right now, we are in a sort of cultural civil war, the right against the left. Those on the left wish to do away with everything that made this country great and everything that has worked to make life better throughout history. Why? Because maybe it was harsh to them when they were younger or they have convinced themselves that life is supposed to be a free hand-out.
A conservative doesn't object to a liberal living as they see fit. Pay higher taxes if you wish, don't discipline your children, drive a cracker box small car and use as little energy as you want.
A liberal, on the other hand, hates how we conservatives live and demands that we live life exactly as they do and have no more than they have, regardless of how hard you work. To them, the failure of the Soviet Union wasn't because it is failed experiment that stifled their citizens, it just wasn't applied properly.
Theoretically, their ideals sound great and wonderful. But, they never take into consideration good old human nature. To them, Bush is the antitheses of their views since he is sitting in the most powerful seat in the world.
Anyway, that's how I view it. Others probably see it much differently. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Some very good remarks by ocsparky101, armybrat and LewWaters. I would only add one more reason: Bush is successful and people who aren't successful often hate those who are. Bush has succeeded in driving the Taliban from Afghanistan, pretty much silenced al-Qaida and got a democratic government elected. There's enough success there for lots of hate.
But then he also removed Saddam and is close to leaving a democratic government in Iraq. He also got Libia to drop their WMS program and invite inspectors to verify destruction of the WMD that they currently have. And he brought China and Russia to the bargaining table over North Korea. And he did all this while thumbing our collective noses at the EU which refused to support us. Lots of success for one man, lots of hate from those who don;t understand and those who are jealous. I believe that after his two terms George W. Bush will be seen by historians as the most successful president since Roosevelt. Of course he's doing this on the broad sholders of Ronald Reagan. _________________ -I'm Jim, and I approve what I write, unless it's wrong.

Thank you all very much for the responses. All posts are very much appreciated!
This quote by LewWaters jumped out at me:
Quote: | A liberal, on the other hand, hates how we conservatives live and demands that we live life exactly as they do and have no more than they have, regardless of how hard you work. To them, the failure of the Soviet Union wasn't because it is failed experiment that stifled their citizens, it just wasn't applied properly. |
I thought it was just me, but I really have thought the rhetoric I hear from Kerry and the Democrats sound so similar to that that was used by Marx and other socialist/communists.
Sometimes I would be listening to Rush as he is commenting and he calls them "liberals" and I say to myself, why doesn't he just call them what they espouse: "communists." "Liberals" is too soft. But, I guess I understand that Rush would come under a firestorm if he did, despite the fact that it is true.
Just seems to me that the shoe fits.
Ever notice that MSM doesn't think twice about labeling a guest as "conservative" columnist (or something else "conservative"), but you never hear "liberal" columnist; also "conservative" think tank but never "liberal" think tank, etc.
BTW: I just heard on Hannity that Michael Moore was a member of the "Green" party, but changed because of Kerry. Isn't the "Green" party home to socialists/communists?
Sorry for bloviating, I am so tired, that I should go to sleep, but I can't.
We all know why.

They also hate him because he is a Christian and doesn't hide it. That really scares 'em ! They don't even want anyone to talk about God.... prayer out of schools.... no Christmas songs (unless secular ), no Christmas scenes in public, keep prayer quiet - even Catholics say that.... Ellis Hennigan is a Catholic and said 'we should keep our religion at home' - huh? the ACLU is suing cities and counties etc to get any type of religioous emblem off any public bldg.... what's next ? St. Louis will become? St Petersburg? etc.... they want to take over our country and we have been asleep.... and Bush woke people up ! This Gore won 2000 is ridiculous - Bush won by just under 500 votes in FL (would have been more if we'd taken out the votes of dead people and multiples etc)... that's what they are doing to a greater extent this year. _________________ Stevie

I believe the hatred boils down to one little thing and that is they were in power for 8 years with Clinton and then they lost that power to Dubya. With all the "selected" not elected crap and the complaints I still hear about Clinton's impeachment (he should been out of office then IMHO) the Liberals are pissed and they are also afraid they are not going to get back into power any time soon.
There are several Liberals that do not understand me and what I support politically. One being my brother-in-law. He asked my wife why and how could I support Dubya and she floored him by saying that she also supports the President.
I have not taked politics with him for several months after I brought up the Swifties to him (he is a decorated Viet Nam vet but he has never said anything about it the 20 years I have known him) and his only come back was to ask if I had ever heard of anyone remember seeing the President in the AANG. I dropped the subject at that point and refuse to talk politics with him.
One other thing that dawned on the other day was that I get my news from Fox and the Internet but he only uses his PC for email gets his news from the MSM. |

All of you have made great points! But Stevie does bring up a point that is not mentioned as much. My father suffers from ABB but what he really suffers from is a lack of God in his life. I really pressed him not to long ago about his hatred of G. Bush, and he started spouting off the normal ABB talking points. When he was done I asked him what proof he had to back them up, and he said the TV say’s so. I said dad how many times have you caught these same people you’re trusting, lying about something else. And he just looked at me like a light bulb had just turned on. Then I sat down and disproved (with the truth and evidence) every one of his points. All that was left was that Bush is a Christian, when I mentioned that he about came unglued.
It breaks my heart, I know that one day (probably not to far from now) we will all be separated (the sheep from the goats). I’m overjoyed about where I’ll be but I’m equally torn and greatly saddened at where my father will be. He does not listen, he will have nothing of it, and there is no sign of objectivity left to be seen. All I can do is pray and put my trust in God because from what I have seen it’s completely out of my hands. _________________ Proud to be an American! and member of the PAJAMAHADEEN

I think they hate blindly becouse the reality is their Ideaology isnt working, it never really has worked, and this presidency, from outside sources, has provided the opportunity to put this in the forfront.
some blame bush for 9-11 some blame him for everything from Economy to Reeves not walking.
The truth is comming out now however.
If you want to feed a starving man teach him to fish and he will eat the rest of his life, give him a fish he will eat once and you will control his life through fear.
Just how I see it. |

John Kerry's recipe for victory in this election is to tell the sheep what they want to hear. It works! There are millions upon millions of people in this country who couldn't be satisfied no matter who is in office. They didn't recieve it from Mr. Bush; therefore they will try Kerry. Why do you think the dems depend so heavily on the minorities and the young? Most of them pay very little attention to politics and are easily influenced by false promises.
History has shown that "Good" usually wins over "Evil". You can believe that Kerry is evil! I honestly believe that, if given the chance, he would guide America into the jaws of the U.N. and a One World Order where we would eventually lose our status as a free and powerful nation.
I am a Vietnam war veteran who is ashamed at the direction the democrats are taking us! ( Have you ever noticed how defensive or elusive a politician gets when asked a question about a controversial subject like "Gay Marriages"? ) The only reason these subjects are even recognized is due to legislation which was introduced by democrats 100% of the time! _________________ Chance favors the prepared mind...

The Liberals want IN GOD WE TRUST removed from our money and taken out of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. They know that won't happen with Bush at the helm. |

Let's get even more specific. GW isn't ashamed to say the name of Jesus Christ. This is the bottom line for ALL Liberals/Communist/Socialist or any other "IST" This is a spiritual war - a clash between two world views. Good vs Evil.
[Phillipians 2:5-11] 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Yes to all of the above, and in addition to:
LewWaters wrote: |

The liberals hate President Bush because of what he represents -- core moral values of right and wrong, or put in other words good and evil.
Liberals believe in moral relativism. An anything goes society of total freedom kill the unborn, that is okay because it is my choice to live my life as I choose. Don't apply the death penalty because the lawbreaker whose crimes are so heinous to merit such a penalty is really just a victim of some society injustice. Pornography, prostitution, drug abuse --- these activities don't have victims so --- it should be legal ---
Liberals believe that not only should everyone live exactly how they want but that if they can't afford to live that way the government should foot the bill.
Liberals believe that I should not be offended by if they choose perform lewd acts in public -- but are offended at the sight of the cross I wear around my neck.
Liberals believe that vulgar song lyrics should be played over the public airwaves without limit --- but prayers should not be heard in public places
Liberals believe that the display of the 10 Commandments in a public place is obscene but their should be no restrictions on the number or type of sex acts broadcast on TV (a child watching TV today will witness over 70,000 indications/simulations of sex between non-married people)
(I wasn't always a prude --- age, logic, reason and learning from mistakes made me one). If we cannot demonstrate self-control and standards over the acts most personal to our being -- how can we demonstrate control and standards over actions more distant from our beings.
I agree with the thought those that hate President Bush actually hate God. If you deny God then you don't have to worry about being accountable for your behavior. Those that hate America do so because then it is easy to deny being born/living in this great country is a blessing from God, deny the blessing, deny God. |
