|
|
John O'Neill was on "The Inquisition" today and Scott Sewell took a few questions from this forum.
One of the questions was would Mr. O'Neill and his family attend an event sponsered by the members of this forum, to honor the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth for their service, at a time and place to be determinded sometime after November the 3rd.
His answer was anytime, anywhere! Then he said, "hopefully we won't have to do it in Brazil"
So, we have a party to plan and we will all have an opportunity to personally thank these men and their wives who without a doubt are serving along side them.
I'm so excited I can hardly wait.
We'll have to decide on a location and dates. Living in Florida I have to suggest Florida would be a great place to do it and many people could combine the trip with a family vacation and maybe even visit Disney or any of the other 93204235252 tourist attractions here. That said, others have suggested other locations and in all honesty the location matters very little because the main attraction will be the people we are there to honor.
Also, do any of our members have any experience with catering, event or party planning?
I can't wait to meet all of you and the SVPT. Woohoo! _________________ Deborah

This is such a good idea. There are so many people on this forum that I yearn to meet in person.

What a great idea! I heard John O'Neill on the radio and he was super! Of course, we could all descend upon him in Houston! Winter in Houston is bearable--just not summer |

This is a great idea, and I plan to be there, whenever, wherever. I now have a lot of new friends that I'd like to meet face to face. I might suggest that the venue be in the middle part of the country, to make it more accessible to more people. I would think Memphis or St. Louis or someplace like that might work. So, count me in! |

I went to Memphis once and wouldn't leave my hotel room without an escort. Maybe Nashvill? Maybe we could even get Toby Keith or one of the other pro military country singers to entertain us. _________________ Deborah

If we can make it near the middle of the country (at least west of the Mississippi) I think lots will come from the left coast... Vegas is a party town oops never mind the navy had problems with large hotels..(Tailhook LOL) _________________ "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I’m here to help." I hope you all throw one great whingding. I would not be able to attend though. I am a widow living on a very fixed budget and I have sent all the extra dimes and pennies that I have to the SwiftBoat Vets for their ads. |

Well we'd just have to hook you up with a lift then huh? I am sure some one from your neck of the woods who was headed to the shindig could give you a lift. _________________ "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I’m here to help." Ronald Reagan |

We will organize ride shares and roommates for anyone wanting the extra company/less expense. Also it isn't going to be for at least a few months. I'd imagine sometime like March or spring. So we can all recover from Christmas. _________________ Deborah

How about Boston? We can get a nice Photo where Johny Boy tried to do his Swift Boat entrance for the Convention
Besides it is a lot closer to home for me _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |

Well his Condo on Beacon Hill doesn't have enough parking, maybe Teddy K. will let us into the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis? _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |
