the below clipping says it all really

The statement came after a joint project by CBS' "60 Minutes" and the New York Times reported that the Iraqi government has told the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that the stockpile of material for plastic explosives went missing during postwar looting. The IAEA did not publicly reveal the issue of missing explosives until after the CBS-Times report.

Google news just took off all the stories and news links running on this story (they were up an hour ago). They have not put up one link to explain that it was a false report in their place. It just all vanished. Shocked

I just did a google search and I'm still getting the orginal article.

CNN's is being pretty straight with the story being bogus suprisingly. It'll be interesting to see if they bring it up today.

It appears it is worse than that:

Drudge now reporting Iraq depot story was shopped to CBS' 60 minutes before reported by NYT
Drudge Report

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX MON OCT 25 2004 22:45:05 ET XXXXX

NBCNEWS: CACHE OF EXPLOSIVES VANISHED FROM SITE IN IRAQ BEFORE TROOPS ARRIVED...

The NYTIMES urgently reported on Monday in an apprent October Surprise: The Iraqi interim government and the U.N. nuclear agency have warned the United States that nearly 380 tons of powerful conventional explosives are now missing from one of Iraq's most sensitive former military installations.

[The source behind the NYT story first went to CBSNEWS' 60 MINUTES last Wednesday, but the beleaguered network wasn't able to get the piece on the air as fast as the newspaper could print. Executive producer Jeff Fager hoped to break the story during a high-impact election eve broadcast of 60 MINS on October 31.]

Bush should come out publically about the New York Times, CBS, ABC, and others who are lying to the American public to influence an election.
