Any guesses on Kerry's running mate? Some say Edwards. Probably too nice a Southern gentleman. How about a DNC Convention draft of Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap? Same philosphies. All kidding aside, I believe Kerry may end up as a puppet for the radical Left, then have the Dem liberals call the shots in running the country. If not that, drafting Hillary as the DNC candidate of choice for President! Too far out??

Seriously Vets, How would you feel if Kerry made a Mid-East "trip" to Iraq to visit our troops? Would it help him? Or hurt him? How would our brave troops react? Would they spit at him? Or "frag" him?

Let you all in this forum post some feelings about this.

Personally, I don't think Kerry would go anywhere near Iraq or Afghanistan. I don't believe our troops would do anything to him, other than a cold reception, but I also believe Kerry thinks he is much too important to be anywhere near a current combat zone.

Afterall, he might trip and chip a fingernail and since he's now a civilian, he couldn't put himself in for another Purple Owie.

I'm with Lew, I don't think he'll go.

Further, I'm sincerly hoping he won't. By doing so he would be putting a lot of innocent, dedicated, patriotic men and women in harms way ie; all the people whose duty would be to protect him.

His running mate has long been choosen, his name is Teddy. The offical naming of a VP running mate is just for dressing.

I agree with others here. Even though Kerry likes to say he's the veteran's choice for president, he has to know that he would receive a very cold welcome from the troops. Soldiers in combat areas today know more about what's going on back home than we did over thirty years ago. All we had was AFVN radio and letters from home. For obvious reasons my family never mentioned anti-war demonstrations or anything negative in their letters to me.
As far as VP, that's a tough one. Some presidents like to have a real jerk for VP as a kind of insurance policy against assasination. Nixon/Agnew comes to mind. Where is Kerry going to find someone so much worse than him that certain powers would tolerate Kerry just to keep the VP from becoming president?

LOL! You've got a point there, bandit!

I'm guessing Edwards, but if the decision is held out for much longer, it just may turn out to be Hillary.

Sorry, shouldn't have brought up that name so close to dinner for y'all, hm? Wink

I'm not worride about Hitlery being chosen as VP. Her and Bill seem to be opening the way for her to have a clear shot at the Presidency in 2008. A successful VP post would put that off until 2012.

I think it'll be Edwards in an effort to seal up South Carolina.

From what I understand, our fighting men and women over in Iraq and Afghanistan have satellite TV reception, and the majority of them watch only FoxNews, and do not watch CBS, ABC, NBC or CNN. They know what's happening back there, and they know the truth! And I think that the majority of them know just what a liar Kerry is, and what damage he would to to our nation and our military should he be elected!

FRIGGIN WAR WOOF!
