|
|
Weekly we have been getting reports of explosions killing many Iraqis as they waited in lines to apply for positions with the Police/Army.
I am afraid that the same tactic will be used in the USA on Tuesday morning while hundreds of voters wait in lines all across the land.
Imagine the far-reaching panic that would occur if this was done in just a few places in the USA as the voting day is starting. It would hurt voter turn-out and could postpone the election.
I hope this does not happen. _________________

All it would mean is that Bush would have to stay in office until another election could be planned or he would have to declare martial law.
But if that happened, Kerry would be toast anyway, even the koolaid drinkers would be crying to Bush for protection. |

someone else posted that unlike Spain and Aus. they didn't send a bomb(s) before our election, and that a tape was the best they could do because homeland security is working. |

"On the videotape, aired by the Arab television station Al-Jazeera, bin Laden address Americans: "Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or Al Qaeda (search). Your security is in your own hands."

and we no longer are banned from some very nice weapons ... good timing.

I'd like to know how many Taliban and Al Qaeda were killed in Afghanistan...I've never seen an estimate on casualties. _________________ www.moorewatch.com

I'd posed the same question (Would there be an attack?) a couple months ago. The scenario that made the most sense to me was an attack two or three weeks before the election. That wouldn't allow Bush time to do anything significant and plenty of time for Kerry to demigogue. Given that it didn't happen, I think the odds are now much lower for an attack. |

Shep Smith on FoxNews just quoted an "unnamed official", saying all along they've believed that if another attack were to occur in the U.S., it would likely be preceded by a bin Laden message.
Could be just one guy speaking out of place, but distressing nonetheless. _________________ "If I must choose between righteousness and peace, I choose righteousness." -- Theodore Roosevelt |

ok ok I'll delete the 'frightening' thing, but we should all be thinking about the fact that voting takes place in schools. Have it somewhere else, I don't know. |

Hey you know what. This time in the U. S. right now and since 9/11 is no different than what all of us Vietnam vets were going through in country. The VC were all around us and you had no idea when you would be hit. But you had your buddies-that's what counted. I am not afraid of standing in line at my school and maybe one of us might be able to take out one of these terrorist jerks. Think about it!!
Stand tall here. Don't EVEN show fear. We never have and never will. Let the MSNBC and CNN crowd cower in fear, not us. _________________ Gary Armitstead

First and foremost let me extend my sympathy to you for your loss. Your cousin was courageous and a hero. We must honor these men and women by continuing on in their legacy....fearlessly.
OMG what you wrote is wonderful and true. I will be working as an Election Officer on Election Day. I am excited. They briefed us on security and different things I am not at liberty to share here, but they thanked us for our courage........and yes, this year it is going to take a lot of courage to get out to the polls wheter to work them or vote at them, or both. I am gladly taking the risk, though I believe it is quite low, rather than hide in my home in fear.
In the spirit of Todd Beamer....LETS ROLL!
