If not "Conscientious Objector", how about "Opportunistic Whiner"? |

I think that makes us all CO's. We all are conscientous and we all object to Kerry.

Hear, hear Doc. That's a CO status I'd be proud to claim! _________________ Bye bye, Boston Straggler! |

Skerry didn't want the tag of "CO".....he needed to be a marked as a warrior in order to further his political career. I will admit to reading that other book you know “my short four month Tour of Duty. In the book it is evident early on what skerry was attempting to do and that was to cast himself as the next JFK. Of course we now know how ridiculous that thinking was. But everything that skerry did was done to get him exactly where he is now. |

I heard a rumor a while back that in 1969 you could still get out of service if you were married and that it changed in late 1969. He did get married rather quickly when he got back. Also, knowing Kerry as we now do, why was there not this big show boat wedding? He's too opportunistic to not have wanted a big bash, don't you think?
Also, it had something to do with John Kennedy but I don't remember if it was something he enacted at the beginning of the war or something.
I never looked further, but now I just might.

Oct. 26, 1965: The Selective Service declares that married men without children, who were previously exempted from the draft, will now be called up. Married men with children remain exempt. _________________ U.S.M.C. - 1969-1971
