Just doing my nightly check in with my prayer warriors..How is everyone? Good, glad to hear it..
I am heartened..many churches are open in my area, for a 72 hour prayer vigil for this election..I am at peace. We will be as one as we ask for God to provide us with a resolution of victory..and yes, I do believe in my soul that this is an election between good vs. evil..not that Kerry is evil..but that his policies and indecision, his behavior, his acts of ..yada yada yada..NO, this country must have a leader who believes, IN GOD, in us and in his principles..God will be with us..He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow..His light and truth will prevail..as will our President on November 2..I am well in my soul tonight!!!

I found it hard to believe that many people in church(es) think that Bush is really sending job overseas on behalf of the big corporations and that Bush's tax cut is designed to help the riches. I talked to a pastor two days ago and he mentioned about it when he visited a church in the Midwest. I also talked to a church goer who I believe a sincere and good Christian, and he thinks that Bush is the worst president and that Kerry is better.
I don't know what people think but for a good Christian comes to believe that Kerry is better than Bush is like Saddam is better than a regular Joe. I suppose media matters. Let's pray for them--those Christians who still believe that Bush is "evil" and Kerry is a good guy. _________________ All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. |

To encourage, will give scriptures tomorrow, had a prayer time with 4 of us today, it was incredible to say the least. No retreat, No defeat, only Victory in Jesus.
Started my complete fast today after hearing Dutch Sheets who has written several books on intercessory prayer call an emergency 3 day fast and prayer vigil, right before the OBL tape came out. He said the spiritual warfare has increased a level and to tell everyone to pray at church with prayer groups, Sunday Schools. and even move any home groups to before the election. I trust him and have never heard him be so urgent. Our participation in this victory is paramount to the outcome.
The amazing part of this is getting to participate with God in seeing His will fufilled in this election. I can say Reporting For Duty my precious Lord Jesus _________________ twicearound |

Always and forever, never saying never
My words my deeds, go up to heaven daily
with the beating of my heart
The President said he believed that God wanted him to be president.

Every moment of my day consumed by thoughts toward heaven and my heart is given to this thing, therefore every thought becomes a prayer. I also am satisfied with God's choice. _________________ twicearound |

2 books you really must read -
God and George W. Bush: A spiritual life, by Paul Kengor
A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush by Ronald Kessler
President George W. Bush is the right man for this time, this day, this hour. I believe he has been placed in this position to lead us through one of the darkest valley's this nation has ever seen. I believe he has been called and sent by God, and that all that has happened (and will happen) is part of his larger purpose.
I've cried out in prayer to the Lord (and I've prayed more these last couple of weeks...) that such a rightous (human and imperfect as he, himself would no doubt be first to say) man cannot possibly lose this election to such an opposite.
I am trying so hard to leave this in God's hands and be calm about things, no matter what happens.
Read these 2 books (you'll love the stories in Kessler's book about former presidents. Might want to rethink any love you have for Jimmy Carter, and wait until you read about Hillary. She's next on the list....) _________________ MJB

And, I also wanted to share my day with those who will understand.
I was active on the boards last night, and deeply considering coming out to Washington D.C. for the rally. Our finances are really tight, but I wanted to come and show my support if I could possibly find a way.
I wasn't sure of my decision before I went to sleep, and although I prayed I didn't discern any movement one way or the other.
When I woke up this morning, I found a little time to pray and tried to be quiet and listen. I asked if I should go to Washington D.C and attend the rally - and the small, quiet word I heard was "no". Partly disappointed and partly relieved, I headed downstairs to find out the latest (I swear I'm glued to this laptop!).
Imagine my surprise when I read NavyChief's posting and the subsequent discussion about standing down. I absolutley think it was God's will that the rally not happen. More powerful things are stirring, and we [Team Swiftie] are a small (but vital) part of that movement.
So, instead of rushing around trying to get ready to travel, my daughter and I drove over the the airport to try and see Air Force One. President Bush was in town today for a battleground-state rally in Minneapolis (my husband got caught in the traffic block around downtown).
We found a spot on the far side of the airport where we could see the plane off in the distance. The weather was cloudy, with intermittent spitting, raining and mist. The plane kept getting obscured by sheets of rain and mist. I was hoping it would clear enough so we could see it leave.
After about an hour of waiting, at almost 3:30 on the dot, we saw a helicopter in the distance. It moved slowly toward the plane and took up position overhead. Shortly thereafter I vaguely saw a short string of vehicles pull up on the other side of the plane. Then, another string of vehicles (black SUV's from what I've seen before - I've been to three rallys so far) pulled alongside the plane.
This is in the distance and vague, remember. The rain had moved off, and about a minute or two after the vehicles pulled up by the plane (about enough time for the President to go onto the plane) Air Force One was suddenly bathed in sunlight.
I was struck by the obvious symbolism, and was touched by feelings of amazement, humbleness, strength, calm and purposefulness.
The blue and white plane stood out from the dark clouds behind the airport, and proceeded to move off toward the end of the runway. The sunlight had faded, and the clouds were moving overhead.
As Air Force One took off from the runway (we couldn't see it start its roll, but saw it as it lifted off the runway) the sun again broke through the clouds, and that beautiful aircraft lifted through the sky again bathed in gleaming sunlight.
My husband was about 3 miles away after finishing showing some real estate, more directly under the plane's path, and we were talking on our cell phones. As the plane rose through the clouds, we could both see the sun on the plane. Air Force One disappeared from my sight in the clouds, but my husband saw a formation of 2 F-15 fighter escorts head toward the 747, break off and come up with one on either side of the President's plane.
Profound and moving. I am still touched by the day's events. _________________ MJB

One need'nt worry about finding time to pray. If you are thinking and living right your every thought, word and deed will be part of the continuous prayer of your being. Your every foot step will be a blessing called down from heaven upon the face of the earth and the spark of life will flow from your hands into every thing you touch.
There is One sky above
One earth beneath our feet
One sea of air surrounding
One breath of life within
Humanity is One kind upon the face of the earth
and there is One law which governs the affairs of all men
Salvation lies in the change and return of things. As the cycles of the seasons pass and return so the man must leave and return to his home in God. It is only in the trial of the leaving and the returning that man may truly come to "KNOW GOD" _________________ Hey swifty, I'm with you, Just watch you don't get "Kerry'd away in the propwash

Awesome MJB, it gave me chills to read it and a few tears. Arise for the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you O America and over this election.
On my way to church the whole service is prayer for the election.
Let God arise and shatter the shield that hides the truth behind the shield and let the people of this nation see the truth and be set free. Arise O God on this day of worship, prayer and fasting and let our enemies be scattered and shatter the teeth of the wicked.
Psalm 52: Why bost you of mischief done against the loving-kindness of God and the godly, O mighty sinful man day after day
Your tongue devises wickedness; it is sharp like a razor, working decietfully
You love evil more than good and lying rather than to seek righteousness, justice and the right.
You love destroying and devouring words, O deceitful tongue
God will likewise break you down and destroy you forever; He will lay hold of you and pluck you up our of your tent and uproot you from the land of the living.
The uncompromisingly righteous also shall see it and be in reverant fear and awe, but about you they will laugh saying
See, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of riches, seeking refuge and security for himself in his wickedness.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust and confidently rely on the loving kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever.
I will thank You and confide in You forever, because You have done it(delivered me and kept me safe). I will wait on, hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good, j in the presence of Your saints (your kind and precious ones).
Thank you precious lord that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, according to Your word, for this is our birthright. AMEN _________________ twicearound |

I just returned home from church. We prayed for the election too. How awesomely inspiring to come back and find all of your marvelous words, thoughts, and prayers. Know that many will be joining together to pray and that I too believe God is in control and good will prevail. The spiritual warfare is not over, but God is stronger.
"As for God, His way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is flawless.
He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God?
It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect."
--Psalm 18:30-32
God is arming us for the battle at hand and victory will be the Lord's.
I am honored to be a prayer warrior among all of you. I thank God for each and every one of you and for each of your prayers. God's peace be with you. |

I go to a verrrrrrrrry liberal church (which is difficult, enough said...) and wondered how today would go (since last week's prayers that included the prayer we would "vote responsibly").
It was good to sit there and be reminded that we are one body in Christ....
And included in the Gospel text today? "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
Amazing. _________________ MJB

And...one of my favorite passages...seems particularly pertinant in these days.
Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. (Matt 10:16-20, ESV) _________________ MJB

The historical faith of our world is God&Country and God&Country is deeply embedded in the American soul. It defines an americans sense of nation, history, and identity, even when the individual is not devout. I have heard many Americans say that they are not believers, but they do know which the true faith is.

Don't forget the Pray the Vote rally tomorrow. Go to www.presidentialprayerteam.org and sign up for an hour to pray. We need to remember no matter what it looks like that God is in charge. I just happened to glance down at my Bible and here is what I read:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. --Romans 8:35-39
I know it is hard, but all you need is a little faith. Just the size of a mustard seed and you can move mountains. Let's take these mustard seeds and move the mountain, cause I can hear a landslide coming. Come on, if God is with us who can defeat us? No one, especially not that wolf in sheeps clothing. Let's keep this thread going. Prayers are a necessity right now. |

After much worry and a general lack of faith on my part I am finally experiencing "the peace that passes all understanding" about our Country and this election. I have been on edge for the past few days, probably from watching too much television. By today I was feeling like that I couldn't take even one more day without going to Church. We moved to a new community a few months ago, so today I attended a Church I had never been to before. God's presence was there in that small Church today and I have to believe that it was that way in hundreds of other Churches, big and small, throughout this Country and throughout the world as well. God is working through us, dear friends, in big ways and small ways. I know it and believe in my heart that the gates of hell shall not prevail against us! Its not politically correct to say so, I suppose, but as a Christian I have to believe that God chose George Bush to be our President the past four years and continues to use him each and every day. God does not make mistakes. He called Moses even though as Exodus 4:10 says Moses pleaded with the Lord to use someone else saying that he was "not eloquent and was slow of speech and tongue". I love and support our President, but due to the circumstances in my life I have not felt like I've been able to do much in the way of volunteering for his campaign, donating to the Swift Boat Veterans, etc., etc. Today the Lord reminded me that what I have done was pray for President Bush and his family for the past four years. He also let me know that I still have some work to do, that I shouldn't get discouraged, I should just get busy! _________________ "Lord...Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman" Ps15:1-3. |
