I know the Redskins lost today and to the superficial and superstitious this is a bad omen.
LET NOT YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED.
In the same period of time...the SOX never won a world series.
This is the year for ending of "curses"!
SWC
I know this will be moved soon to Scuttlebutt purgatory or whatever it's called. Forgive me ADMIN. Just looking for some quick airtime before it's moved. I won't do it again and will make a $50 donation today in penance for this shameless plug. Even after Kerry's defeat, we will continue to need money so this valiant fight can continue to have this traitor removed from the U. S. Senate. |

I've been watching the score and it's only 4th quarter on the scoreboard on the internet. All the other indicators are there we just have to wait for the most popular costume tonight. _________________ The door to the room of success swings on the hinges of the opposition. |

Brilliant point, swctexas. I am a Dallas fan (who by some miracle are
winning with two minutes to go), but I was prepared to sacrifice and
pull for the 'Skins for once. The least they could have done was to
beat Green Bay, especially since GB killed the Cowboys last week! _________________ Susan R. Morton |

My bad. I thought the game was over.
My teenage sons and I did a strike on cars at Reliant Stadium today distributing Bush/Cheney info on Democrat marked cars.
Regardless of the circumstances, as a firm believer in the deity of Tom Landry, I could never cheer for the Skins.

And by the way Susan...how about UNC? That was awesome. |

Remeber,
It was Reagan that broke the "zero factor". See Zero Factor
It will be Bush that breaks this streak.
Besides, "Redskin" is politically incorrect.

I loved Tom Landry, too. He proved that you could be a great coach
and a great Christian at the same time. I guess the reason I thought
I could pull for the 'Skins is that I pulled for Carolina during last night's
game. I am an NC State fan and you are not allowed to pull for UNC
and remain loyal to NCSU. Carolina was just playing so well and Miami
had just killed State last week. You had to root for the young guy who
so calmly kicked the winning field goal. He's from Wilmington which is
only about 50 miles from Jacksonville. _________________ Susan R. Morton |

In 1996 the RedSkins lost to the Bills on Nov 3rd. Unfortunately a few days latter Bill Clinton was re-elected.

Well, when you take into account the number of Green Bay myths that have gone bust in the past couple of years... I wouldn't really put too much stock in it. If it hadn't been who won the game... they'd have found some other random statistic for their correlation to the election. (i.e. first scorer, score at half-time, even/odd number of TD's/FG's, even/odd final score, number of letters in the QB's name... etc... ) _________________ Artifical Intelligence is no match for natural stupidity |

From the Kerry Spot at NRO:
http://www.nationalreview.com/kerry/kerry200410311615.asp
Quote: | UPDATE: Get a load of this - the streak is bunk, according to James Taranto:
Well, it turns out this particular streak already ended, eight years ago. According to blogger Justin Taylor, on whose posting we relied, the Redskins beat the Indianapolis Colts in 1996's last pre-election game, and the incumbent, Bill Clinton, was re-elected.
It's true of course that Clinton won, and the Redskins did beat the Colts, 31-16 — but that game took place Oct. 27, eight years ago yesterday. On Nov. 3, the 7-1 Skins lost to the 5-3 Buffalo Bills, 38-13 — and the incumbent president won two days later.
UPDATE, AGAIN: Now I'm getting e-mails saying it's only the last home game for the Redskins that keys the streak. |
FWIW. |
