That's terrific!
Now if someone can just do a capture off of the msnbc web site's latest version of the Brokaw/Jennings interview, we'll be all set.

Yep, I'm putting it on my list of questions to enquire about when I reach heaven. Up there with: Who really shot Kennedy?, Did Vince Foster really commit suicide and Which came first, the chicken or the egg. |

Deborah that was great hunting. I sent this to NBC
Good Day Dateline'
Just noticed that you sort of CHANGED some of the Brokaw Kerry interview. I first saw the interview on the national news the other night. I missed your new and improved version on Dateline tonight. But word is spreading fast on the internet! It was a nice touch to edit the text of the interview on your web site also. You really should have known that it was only a matter of seconds after the national news airing that the records issue started to appear on a number of web sites. There are a lot of people that want to know what's in those 90+ pages that John hasn't released yet. Did you really think that no one would notice that you edited it out of the telecast tonight. Did I mention I had a bridge in Brooklyn? It might be ok if your were editing audio and text at the end of a sentence but in the middle! Guys give the common man a break here. Are you guys using the same editing guy that Nixon used? Nixon had 15 minutes you guys have only 5 seconds. This editing thing really has some legs on internet you better start doing some damage control. I'm really looking forward to you explanation on this one. Maybe you can use the same investigative team that CBS is using!
Hey guys good luck. And have a nice day! |

Brokaw replayed his Kerry interview from the other night. The other night Kerry said: "That's great. More power. I don't know how they've done it, because my record is not public. So I don't know where they are getting that from." Tonight he said: ""That's great. More power. I don't know how they've done it."
Send out the word. |

So Kerry finally admits on national television that his military records were not released and Tom Brokaw the world-renowned news anchor misses the scoop of the election. Apparently Tom’s lips were pressed so firmly against Kerry’s butt he couldn’t think of a follow-up question like; “Senator you told the American people on several occasions that you released all your military records?” “Are you saying that isn’t true Senator?”
Of course Kerry would provide a truthful response to the question such as; “Well to honest Tom if I had released my records when Bush did I wouldn’t have made it out of the primaries”. “Furthermore Tom I don’t believe the American people would ever support my candidacy if they knew I was drummed out of the Navy for my un-American activities”.
Of course miracles never really happen. _________________ Retired AF E-8

What a grand coup! I'm sure that most of you realize this, but since no one has mentioned it, maybe some don't.
The issue of the missing records has been festering on this site for weeks and weeks. Even Kerry's slip in the first interview couldn't be made to see the light of day. But now that MSNBC has "smartly" edited the second airing, it has created a controversy that has now been picked up on all the heavy-weight blogs. It won't be long before it has to make the mass market news.
What we've achieved here is a double-whammy: the controversy will now expose MSNBC's partianship, as well as finally ensuring that the missing records issue gets exposure.
(I'm reasonably certain that MSNBC will try to back-pedal and re-spin their position, and maybe there's even an explanation for their actions, but it's the controversy that counts!) |
