And Kharzai has a majority that would allow him to beat any challenger, too. Pretty impressive considering the four candidates and hundreds of tribal factions involved.

That's excellent! Karzai won't have to face a runoff, which could be targets of terrorists, so he can get on with the long struggle of bringing his country into the 21st Century. No one there can now say that he is a "puppet" of the United States, because his own people chose him, even though over 3 million Afghans chose someone else.

If President Bush gets a chance, he should congratulate Hamid Karzai on his victory and the triumph of peaceful democracy in Afghanistan!

Has Hamid Karzai accepted the results? Thought he was waiting until Ramadan was over, but Ramadan may have ended. Not being of that faith I do not know.
