The LeftMedia (conventional media) has done an excellent job of marginalizing the SwiftVets message and the opinions expressed in the Wall Street Journal. My non-computer-literate relatives were completely unaware, for example.
Some method of bypassing the media's purposeful neglect of this story is needed. Perhaps a print version of the SwiftVets statement should be printed up in large quantities and mass-distributed.
Anyone else have any ideas? |

Yes...a large hat...start passing it.
If you want to crack the code of contemporary PR effectiveness, you, unfortunately, will probably need to hire professional media expertise to do it. An earnest, but inexperienced and unguided, grass-roots effort is a tall order.
I might also add that the Swifties message is an extremely powerful one...hopefully the clarion call for your comrades is being distributed LOUD and CLEAR. |

As with any other grassroots campaign, it's going to depend to a large extent on word-of-mouth until an operating fund can be established.
Invite your friends.
Include a link to swiftvets.com in your signatures for bulletin board postings and emails.
Print business cards on your home computer with the URL on it and carry them with you.
Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Keep it short, focus on the main point of the press release and include the URL.
Just a few ideas. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Grassroots? They're as grassroots a group as Citizens for a Better Environment is an environmental group. Just because they could round up some suckers doesn't make it a grassroots group.

Nice way to speak to the people who defend and have defended your right to sit there and run your ignorant suck, sparky. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I'm sorry but I don't buy that argument. I mean, the US *lost* in Vietnam and I'm still voicing my opinion. Obviously we were there for something else. |

Phone calls to local talk-radio programs are a great way to get the message out. |

Dear Sparky,
For your convenience, I have highlighted the brain malfunction(s) that
most closely resemble(s) the one(s) you recently made on the topic of: Swiftvets' opinions on John Kerry.
1. Judging the Whole by One of Its Characteristics
Example: The sun causes sunburns. Therefore, the planet would be better off without the sun.
2. Incompleteness as Proof of Defect
Example: Your theory of gravity doesn't address the question of why there are no unicorns, so it must be wrong.
3. Reaching Bizarre Conclusions Without Any Information
Example: the car won't start. I'm certain the spark plugs have been stolen by rogue clowns
Dear readers,
More of these brain malfunctions are at URL http://www.megat.co.uk/wrong/
Make sure you use them frequently in response to the hysterics, irrationals, and useful idiots on the left (the same ones who bespoiled your lives and your reputations in the Vietnam era). |

Maybe, just maybe the mainstream press had marginalized this group because its agenda is fairly transparent. What I see is a group of Republicans organized to support Bush and bash Kerry. The search for the truth that is a part of the mission message, as I have posted elsewhere, is a sham. Blaming the so-called "leftest" media doesn't explain anything. |

If that is your opinion maybe you should just give it up,and trot on over to a "LEFTIE" board. You will not win here by continuing to bash the vets !
If you buy into the Kerry Lies, you'll never change anyones mind, and that's a fact! |

To Marine Wife. Do you fear having to hear views that are different from your own? |

No I don't fear people who are no more than attack dogs. They can be muzzled with a thing called "TRUTH". Takes the bite right out of 'em ! |
