US soldier seized in Iraq
2 November 2004
Insurgents have captured an American soldier in the city of Samarra, north of Baghdad, an Iraqi police spokesman said today.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ahmed of Samarra police told reporters the soldier had been seized on Monday night by gunmen in two Opel cars. He said US troops were out in force in the streets of the Sunni Muslim city on Tuesday.

US military officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Vote for Kerry or his head comes off?

Screw them. My son would probably look right in the camera and say, "Now you really better vote for Bush." At least, By God, that is how he was raised to act.

And this is the stuff I DO NOT need to hear today. Or really any day. But especially today, when my tummy is full of jumping beans and butterflies doing aerobics.

And may God forgive me, but sometimes I think, "Wouldn't Iraq look great as a parking lot?"

I know. I apologize.

Kimmy I can only imagine what it must be like to have a child over there. What a darn good mom you must be!
My mother always said to me 'I put you in God's hands every day.'
Whew I'm so glad she did!

green glass! Smile

Praying for you and yours, Kimmymac. You are truly a confident & brave woman, and I attribute that to your faith, and I admire you. It is all in God's hands right now - - and that of the American Soldier.

This story is apparently false!

US denies soldier was captured
2 November 2004

The US military denied today an Iraqi police report that insurgents had captured an American soldier in Samarra, north of Baghdad.

A US military spokesman said the 1st Infantry Division, whose operating area includes Samarra, had reported "100 percent accountability of their soldiers at this time".

I believe with all the praying that is being done as everyone reads about his capture our troops will find the path to him, this soldier is priority.
I don't ask God for much, just special times like this.

dmack--which is why I don't let these stories get too far inside my head. When I hear from the DoD I will start to worry. Until then...these reports are just a form of OIM psychological warfare against the families.

But screw 'em anyway. Twisted Evil

I am getting a taste of what you live with every day Kimmy, just a glimpse into it.

I am fighting with my own psyche because I dropped my kid off at school (a polling place today) and drove off.

I refuse to be afraid. But wow it's hard... I have more respect for you than I did yesterday and I wouldn't have thought that possible.

Wouldn't it be nice if the media had checked with the Army first before it put this crap out--it probably scared the heck out of a lot of family members...perfect case of sensationalism that is in the media.

Thank God it is not true, apparently.

And God Bless you Kimmymac and your husband and all families with a child(ren) in Iraq. You are going the very, very extra mile for us and the Iraqis. In fact, you make me cry, but I don't care.
