I live on the West Coast and recall driving home from work 4 years ago as the election results spewed out of the car raido. It was dark and raining heavily. I was miserable because the news was that Florida was lost to Bush and the election would be soon called for Gore.
When I walked in the house and poured a glass of wine to steady my nerves, George Bush and his folks were being televised from their home as they tried to figure out what had gone wrong. Jeb Bush was on the hot seat for failing his brother. He was in a state of absolute panic.
An hour or so later, something happened and the news began to change. George Bush was winning states that had been called early for Gore. We all know the result.
I am going to drive home in an hour or so and I very much believe the same scenario will play out -- with President Bush coming on strong at the end.

Voted this morning -- our precinct was well organized with no delays, long lines, equipment problems, or controversies -- the way it is supposed to be. Eat your heart out Florida.
