Just got back from casting my ballot. I don't need tell any who I voted for, do I? Wink

As we all discussed earlier, I wore my medals, Senior Air Crewmember wings, Rifleman Badge and such. My wife was a little worried about it, listening to the news reports of unrest at polling places. Since our polling place is rather small and out of the way, I knew there would be no problems.

As I walked up the table tor eceive my ballot, the lady behind looked up and said, "My, those are an awful lot of medals." I didn't expect muych response from the pollers about them, but she then asked what they were. I listed them off, Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Service, National Defense, Good Conduct, Army Commendation and Air Medal, also pointed out the wings and the Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon.

She then extended her hand and shook mine, the lady next to her did also as did another lady sitting at the other table. Each said, "Thank You." I felt a little self conscious about it as my medals are nowhere near the stature as the ones the Swift vets and many of you have. But, it sure felt good to hear the thanks and see all the smiles from others nearby.

I hope the rest of you wore yours today when voting and had as nice an experience because of it as I did.

I hope everyone else did, too! Smile

I thought about pinning my letter of commendation to my pajamas while I voted, but it just didn't have the same effect. LOL!

i pulled out a picture of my dad, his flag and all his medals..... Wish he was here with me now, just to give me the strenght to see this nite though......But I do believe, and thanks to people like the Swifties and POW's my family will stay safe, and my country won't turn into a spineless France.

Not much in the way of Medals, typical "Peace Time" Fruit Salad, I wore my Jump Wings (though they find their way on a lot of my wardrobe Very Happy

) as well as an Army Windbreaker.

you go guys! bet you all looked so handsome.... wish I could have seen you - wish someone had taken a pic of you.... you should do that for your families.... dress up and put on your medals and have someone take a pic!

I put a Swiftie bumper sticker across the front of my t shirt and across the back.... the lady at the table said 'you can't wear that in here' - and I asked
'do you want me to take it off?' she said 'well, no, but don't wear it back here again' and I answered 'don't worry, I won't come back here again'
it was a zoo! thousands of new families have invaded this once desert open space and it is becoming just like a regular city! ugh! I hate it!
they had 2 lines that where very long - fortunatley I didn't have to stand in line - I had my absentee ballot that I hadn't mailed and I just walked around eveyrone to the inside....but in 2000 it voted inside and it didn't even take me 10 minutes! there wasn't even maybe 20 people there then! wow!
I'm a bit woried about Ohio... but put it in God's hands.... They're big enough to handle it!

I could only find one of my medals. I know the others are in the house some, I just haven't seen them in the past 2 decades. I wore my medal, my swiftee cap and my CTF115 medallion.
Since I voted in NY, several people glared at my Swiftvet cap and gave me the evil eye.

I want to put a thank you for all the military who served and did not get a medal.

I want you to know that as important as medals are, the fact that you served with honor and dignity is just as important.

For all those who served our country, with or without medals, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

with all the moves we have since I got out I doubt I could even locate any of my medals...meager that they are since I am a peace time vet; but I did wear my anti-Kerry shirt...had his face with a big red circle and a slash across it...they did ask me ti zip my jacket up...as I was leaving since I did not unzip it until I was voting since it just got so hot in there Laughing

Wore it all day and had several people give me the thumbs up and some scowls..those that gave me the thumbs up I asked if they had voted and they all said yes or they were going to.

I thought about digging out my honorable discharge and making a copy of it and taping it to my back...but the only thing I do do know where it is is my DD214. Guess one of these days I should dig all that stuff out.
