My young German friend is very disgruntled right now. He says that he can no longer support NATO and wants his country to pull out of it.
He stopped short of calling the American people ignorant, but he could not understand how we could ignore the fact that Bush lied about Iraq.
And he called Kerry a good man. *sigh* Well, I've showed him this web site. He apparently refuses to believe anything that doesn't square with his opinion of GW Bush. He also says that this election proved that being American was more important to us than what the world thinks about us.
DUH...
He accuses me of being close-minded. Well, maybe I am. Or maybe I needed some better reason for voting against GW, beside the DNC talking points. I think Kerry's lies were far far worse than any of GW's alleged lies, and that Kerry lacks integrity...which is more important to me that "Bush lied."

I have family and friends who are ardently democratic and they do not want to argue the point with me. They hate it when I say things like "if only the rich are getting tax breaks; does your refund check make you one of the rich then?"
