Interesting article, I guess they want to form a new party? Who would be left then?

Interesting article, and totally wrong conclusion. The Progressive Liberals have hijacked the Democratic Party; they own it. The people left in the cold are the moderate Democrats, who will either have to 1) reclaim the party (hard to do since they may be outnumbered, and they are certainly out-shouted), 2) form their own party, or 3) join the Republicans.

One of the problems with the Progressive Liberals is that they truly think they have enough votes to control the Democratic Party nationwide with just the votes in the major metropolitan areas of the northeast, Great Lakes region, and west coast. Think I'm exaggerating? This is precisely what they were talking about during the Democratic Primary season, and if you need further proof, look where Kerry campaigned. Florida was the only southern state he hit (which is about 50% northeasterners anyway), and New Mexico and Colorado were anomalies that he thought might be easy "knock-offs." The Progressive Liberal Democratic party won't care a fig about the values of the red states in a few more years when cities are even more populated, and even sooner if they can change the Electoral College system.

I firmly believe the Moveon and ANSWER Crowd that have Hi-Jacked the Democratic Party are not in the majority. They do make the most noise and control the DNC. I do not see them going without a fight, but as much as they "control" the DNC, they will have a very hard time bringing the mainstream Democrats to their way of thinking. They were and have been able to beat many into submission, but who knows maybe they(the Leftist) can be driven out yet.

Reinforcing the point I made above, these words are from the M&M himself (http://www2.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16739):

Quote:
6. Michigan voted for Kerry! So did the entire Northeast, the birthplace of our democracy. So did 6 of the 8 Great Lakes States. And the whole West Coast! Plus Hawaii. Ok, that's a start. We've got most of the fresh water, all of Broadway, and Mt. St. Helens. We can dehydrate them or bury them in lava. And no more show tunes!

Interesting how the elitist liberals think the world began in the great Northeast. I just wonder what role they think that Virginia (and Maryland, and the Carolinas) played in the Revolution.

Quote:
17. Finally and most importantly, over 55 million Americans voted for the candidate dubbed "The #1 Liberal in the Senate." That's more than the total number of voters who voted for either Reagan, Bush I, Clinton or Gore. Again, more people voted for Kerry than Reagan. If the media are looking for a trend it should be this -- that so many Americans were, for the first time since Kennedy, willing to vote for an out-and-out liberal. The country has always been filled with evangelicals -- that is not news. What IS news is that so many people have shifted toward a Massachusetts liberal. In fact, that's BIG news. Which means, don't expect the mainstream media, the ones who brought you the Iraq War, to ever report the real truth about November 2, 2004. In fact, it's better that they don't. We'll need the element of surprise in 2008.

Again we get an admission that a Northeastern liberal is destined to be the savior of the liberal/progressive right to rule.

Wake up Americans! The liberals/progressives are in all-out class and regional warfare. These words and thoughts are going to be the defining ideology of this bunch of loons in the future - and there are a lot of them.

(And this is the real reason we Swiftees were having such a hard time getting out the truth about Kerry.)

The Democratic party is going down the road to secular socialism. They are the 'blame America first' crowd. Michael Moore is a fine example. Let him lead their flock. This is one of the first elections in our nation's history that as many people identified themselves as republicans as democrats. I think this a sign that people of faith are standing up for their rights.

I’ve posted this in a previous thread, but it seem appropriate here also

I'm a life long GOPer as was my AFL/CIO father. You are correct about the DNC being overtaken by the radical left. The 2 party system needs to be preserved. I don't want the DNC to implode and neither does the rank and file GOPers. We (rank and file GOPers) need the Dems to be active and viable to control the GOP leadership and mitigate the corruption that power breeds. I’ve told my staunch GOP 19yo son that his task will be to monitor and right the GOP leadership should it stray from it’s conservative social and economic roots. This task of protecting America from this threat within was NOT initiated by the GOP leadership but by Americans (Dems, Ind and GOP like) who recognized and acted upon this threat. You Americans, who happen to be Dems, need to retake your party. As a GOPer, I wish you well, God’s speed and sanctuary when needed.
