Did anyone notice the subtle reference from his victory speech?
Bush:
"We will help the emerging democracies of Iraq and Afghanistan — so they can grow in strength and defend their freedom. And then our servicemen and women will come home with the honor they have earned." _________________ <insert pithy signature here> |

He hinted at it in the RNC acceptance speech, too.
A dig at Kerry and the other anti-military Kooks, most likely, because I don't think Stolen Honor was even out, yet. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Totally caught that myself and he made a look too if you happened to watch his eyes. Absolutely sticking it to Kerry and from his heart supporting the honorable veterans of our military.

Definitely. People say President Bush is all direct and no subtlety - that is why they misunderestimate him.
You know who George Bush reminds me of? Dwight Eisenhower. Everybody thought Ike was a goof, too. Him reading those Zane Grey novels - -all the while calculating and moving ... Remember the vacation slam on Bush in Fahreheit 9/11 ?? (I heard about it on Celsius 41/11 - I wouldn't give a plug nickel to Moore that Communist) Ike was accused of taking it easy too -- check out the declassified records. He had more meetings on the gof course than Clinton had in the oval office (and all fully clothed, too). _________________ JEFF WHITE |

Like Ike? I like Ike. I bucked my parents when they supported Robert Taft while I knew that a real hero and famous General would make a much better President. Of course he went on to clobber Adlai Stevenson (twice) and gave America the most serene eight years we've ever seen IMHO.
The wags said that President Eisenhower took naps while John Foster Dulles ran the country. Reminds me of The Great Communicator's leadership style. Time will tell if GWB belongs in the same category as those other 2 great Presidents. He has the potential, for certain.
As to the topic at hand, yes, I think that President Bush was sending a salute to the Viet Nam vets. Presidential speeches are too closely-scripted for accidental hidden messages. _________________ Former "War Criminal" |

Me and alot of my fellow soldiers are relieved this election is over. We are overjoyed to say the least about President Bush' reelection. President Bush truly loves our great country and has a genuine love and a place in his heart for veterans of our armed forces. That in itself makes serving in the armed forces a pleasure and an honor.
As for MM, his only hope is that he and I never cross paths. _________________ Regards,

I think you're 100% right on the money.
Took Kerry to the mat quite a few times in his subtle ways. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I did. I think President Bush was paying tribute to the Viet Nam Vets who did not get the honor they deserved because of people like Sen. Kerry and their slanderous comments.
Kudos to the Viet Nam Vets and All Vets |
