Senator Arlen Spector cannot be head of the Senate Judiciary committee.

One more thing. In Pennsylvania, where Bush made a crucial error in intervening the wrong way in a tight GOP primary race between conservative Pat Toomey and Sen. Arlen Specter, he got nowhere on Tuesday. We're left with Specter as the presumptive next chairman of the Judiciary Committee, where Bush's judicial nominees will run the gantlet.

Specter has already given notice that he will approve only "centrist" (read: pro-abortion, pro-'gay') judges. Given Tuesday's mandate for the "extremist" moral order that Specter disdains, it's not too early to begin a campaign to dump him and ensure that a real conservative like Jon Kyle takes this crucial post.

You heard it here: Dump Specter, now.

Most people don't realize that Specter is the ONLY surviving member of the Warren Commission. And when he dies the truth of the presidential assassination dies with him.

I think some of what Spector said is payback against his conservative base who made it such a battle with Pat Toomey to win the primary. The National Review's cover one week had Specter's picture with the headline "The Worst Republican Senator". Toomey came really close, and it clearly pissed Specter off. I agree, he shouldn't head the Judiciary Committee.

Small good it would do to send an email to either of my Senators, Newly elected Barak Obama or Dufus errr Dick Durbin. But I have contacted both Frist and Specter.

Although wasn't it Specter that forwarded the magic bullet theory, if so, maybe it goes with Kerry's magic hat? Wink

The one good thing that I remember Arlen Specter doing was helping
to get Clarence Thomas confirmed to the US Supreme Court. The
Dems were trying to "Bork" him since a conservative black on the
Supreme Court would be proof that a black man can achieve such
a prominent national position without their help. I can still remember
his pointed questioning of Anita Hill who was lying through her teeth.
That WAS a long time ago. He has moved further left since then
