Some said let you apologize
But that wouldn't do it in our eyes.
A man astride of each position
Could we believe your true contrition?
And on deaf ears your words would fall
To those whose names are on that wall
The vindication they now accept
In settling up this long-held debt,
Is that for them we gave our best
And denied you, John, your lifelong quest.
We fought for them, fought for our own,
To make you reap what you had sown.
Listen carefully John to what we say,
November 2 was their Veterans' Day.

I've mulling this sentiment over and over for awhile.

11/02/04 Veteran's Day ?

Only for those who saw and see John Kerry for what he was and is.

What about those who served galantly and honorably, but supported John Kerry ?

What else did this campaign also do ?
It again pitted veteran against veteran.
It opened old wounds.
It relived the cowardly actions of VVAW.
It exposed decent & honorable veterans to having their memory and character questioned. (we saw it here in these forums)
It saw MSM take a trip to enemy territory on the Delta to try and disprove the Swifties. ( how many vets were moved to emotions they hadn't felt in a long time, just by seeing the river\country again ?)
All because they backed Sen. Kerry ?

How did Vets like Alston et al, who served with dignity and courage and honor, be taken in by Kerry ? for whatever reason ? and ultimately be vilified by their fellow vets.

It is a good probability that Sen. Kerry's war record will continue to be persued.
It is a good probability that Sen. Kerry received a less than honorable dishacharge.
If it comes to pass that it IS true, how do you think those who stood with\ for Kerry are going to feel, having been hoodwinked or mesmorized or hypnotized or bought ?

I'm thinking it's time, if possible, that maybe Kerry's 9 BOBs should be approached by their fellow swift boat-mates, to sit down and just talk.

It was good for the country that Kerry was exposed,
Vets ? we get to heal the same wounds again, 35-40 years later

I deleted a response to this suggestion.

We won't be following this particular line of thinking on this board, and we won't be speculating as to motives, re-unions or anything else regarding Kerry's people.

It is best left to the Swifts.
