I'm thinking about a website www.justw8.com dedicated to a movement to get the Constitution amended to permit President Bush to run again (I know, I know it won't work but it would drive them nuts for four years...hey, hey) |

Considering the Constitution, I think Jeb in 08 is a lot better sounding.
He's a highly popular Governor and, as such, has the chief executive experience that gives him an edge over a lot of candidates (including Hillary).
He'd have a very popular brother campaigning for him, as well as a Father who was a President.
He can continue the Bush legacy, as well as maintain the necessary solid support for the War on Terror, which is going to go on a lot longer than four more years.
...and, believe it or not, the Bush family always thought Jeb would be the one to run for and become President, not Dubya. |

Since he is so popular in Florida, there wouldn't be another 'problem' as there was in 2000. He'll probably would Florida hands down.
I am all for that idea. |

The Rs have many choices Jeb, Giuliani, Powell (?), even McCain if he's your cup of tea or perhaps Rice but probably not til the future - not so the Ds...who do they have? Hillary and Obama? I like where the Rs are right now...now let's govern well and then unite behind a terrific candidate for '08... _________________ "We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. Happy as I am to have President Bush re-elected, I think 8 years is long enough for anyone. Besides, you know what we'd face then, Bill Clinton back again (Wouldn't Hillary be mad!) |

We don't have to have an amendment. W can be VP, and Jeb can run for President...Bush/Bush '08! Let's see if the Bush haters can handle a double dose. |

Dennis Miller mentioned Jeb Bush as a possibility.
1. Another Bush would make the left even crazier than they are now.
2. Jeb's the smart one! |

I love Jeb. I once had the pleasure of hearing him speak in person
here in Jacksonville, NC, during his father's first campaign for
POTUS. That was before he got to be so busy in Florida. I think
that would totally freak out the left, though. They did not have any
problem with a Kennedy dynasty - JFK, Robert, and Ted. Tragedy
and Teddy's stupidity in Chappaquiddick destroyed that hope. I think
that Jeb running for POTUS would bring out the worst in the liberal
elites. I love Giuliani and think he would make a great POTUS, but
some people of faith would have a problem with his pro-choice and
pro-gay stance. You have to remember how much a part the churches
played in the GOTV efforts in the battleground states - especially Ohio.
I was horrified to hear one Christian woman tell someone not to vote
for GHWB in 1992 because of his "one world order" rhetoric. She was
not going to vote for Clinton. She was just not going to vote at all.
If evangelical Christians were not to vote in 2008, that would make
a huge difference for the Republicans. You might attract a lot more
conservative Democrats, but it is doubtful if they would make up
for the loss of votes from the evangelicals. As Rush would say,
remember how Ronald Regan won two elections - as an unabashed,
pro-life conservative. Personally, I do not know how anyone can
look at the 3-D images of sonograms that we have available today
and be anything but pro-life. _________________ Susan R. Morton |

Actually, as highly as think of GWB, I have always thought his brother Jeb would be great choice. He shares the same views politically and morally as W, but I think Jeb has the charisma to pull it off a little better than W did. I love Ws in your face bluntness, he reminds me of me.....say what you mean and mean what you say. But Americans are not ready still for this type of in your face, they need to be handled more with kid gloves....which is why I believe the msm went after him so viciously. I love W, he is a hero, but I think Jeb just has more finesse. I say JB in'08!!!!!!! |

Jeb would do really well with the Hispanic vote too since his wife is hispanic.
Not to mention his yummy-licious gorgeous son! LOL! (Isn't he a George also?) |

Why would a Constitutional amendment be needed to run and elect W again in '08--According to the Dems, he's only been elected once so far, right?--So he has another term coming to him after the upcoming one.......right?--C

Jeb as already announced he will not seek the 08 nomination , in order to prevent the appearance of a dynasty. Highly statesmanlike.
Remember that the GOP has a lot of talent maturing, and some of it must be allowed to rise to the very top. Remember, 6 years ago, how many of us would have placed so much stock in GWB? There may be another W concealed in one of the younger leaders. But if we stifle all that new talent by keeping the top rung locked up, that talent will wither or wander away.
And just in case, no real talent steps up to the plate in about 3 1/2 years, Jeb might be persuadable to do what a man's gotta do. _________________ Hating John Kerry continuously since 1971.

Depending on how the next 4 years goes.....why not think about this? Cheney/Bush.
Both these guys have the highest respect for each other, and I highly doubt GWB's ego would prevent him from being a hell of a good VP, and of course, Cheney would be the supreme presidential candidate, twice as nice as Ike.....
Then, in 2016 Jeb could come along.
Liberals heads would explode............ |
