|
|
Here's the vaunted French Foreign Policy...
Now I would not traffic in people's misery - what's going on in Ivory Coast is sad and I hope for a quick resolve - but how much more difficult if every last little turn is trumpeted in the US press and Chirac blasted as being the next "slaver/Hitler" etc...get the picture, you IDIOTS in France?! Life and foreign policy is more complex and difficult than you pretend it is...now multiply this problem 100 times and you see what the US must face as the only (responsible) superpower in the world. _________________ "We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. Hear, hear...I'm just glad we're not being subjected to Kerry and Chirac's global test this fine day in America... _________________ "We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail." -- President Bush 2001

Quote: | "The President of the Republic ordered the immediate destruction of the Ivorian military aircraft used in recent days in violation of the cease-fire," Chirac's office said. |
But, for 12 years, 17 UN resolutions, multiple violations of the cease-fire from 1991, he turned a blind eye and when America finally took action against Saddam Hussein, he actively opposed it? _________________ Clark County Conservative |

They linked to another story "UN Council Condems French Deaths". The UN Security Council called an emergency session and the French drafted and passed this:
1. condemned the killing of french peacekeepers.
2. demand cessation of all military action.
3. confirmed they were already authorized to use "all means necessary"
4. confirmed they were already authorized to prevent any violence.
well, duh. |

And did the US actively oppose this based on opposing Francophone hegemony? Didn't think so...it's just so two faced... _________________ "We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail." -- President Bush 2001

Did I just read that France used offensive military force in another country UNILATERALLY????? What a bunch of two-faced, double-dealing hypocrits. |

Exactly, why didn't the French let the UN inspectors go in and let "peace have a chance?" _________________ "We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail." -- President Bush 2001

France's unilateral military action would not have passed the Kerry (global) test. How could it, France did not take any polls to decide how to respond! |

Nor did they have a focus group, nor did they ask MoveOn.org, George Soros or Barbara Streisand what they think should be done...It's a scandal - we should entertain blustering about and perhaps never talking to the French again...perhaps we should organize phone calling campaigns to some town on the French Riviera, ala the Guardian, and try to influence the next French federal elections... _________________ "We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We should make it known that we will veto any french UN Security Council resolution. We consider it our duty to act as a counterweight to French imperialism. _________________ "We cannot win this election" - John Fraud Kerry 11/3/04

Are the French bombing an independant nation? Going it alone? Is the shoe on the other foot? Sac le bleu!
The U.S. must veto any UN resolutions on the Ivory Coast. Military action is bad, bad, very baaaddd! Only the UN should authorize these types of military aggressions!
Wait a second, I forgot, we are talking about the French; the rules only apply to others, not them! Sorry 'bout that, I just forgot. |

Those arrogant French must end thier warmongering and imperialism!
NO BLOOD FOR HOT COCOA!
NO BLOOD FOR HOT COCOA!
NO BLOOD FOR HOT COCOA!
It's the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time!
Chirac lied, people died!
End the occupation now!
Kofi Annan has just denounced the French attack!
Chirac you damn strutting, smirking, unilateralist French cowboy!
Where is your plan to win the peace?! You, you, idiot!
Quagmire!!!
Did I leave anything out
Oh yeah...
We've been Chirac-Wacked!
There were no weapons of mass destruction!
Annan tells the U.N Security Council, "I would have done EVERYTHING different!"
UN definition of "Unilateral" - Adj., without the French, absence of the French. Going by the UN definition, this is a multilateral action, and therefore, kosher.
