When K didn't respond to the "mission" ie those that questioned his record it killed his forward movement. It was a strategy that works{sometimes},as in no response is the best response-issues will quietly die,or the populus will tire of hearing distant voices.OIM is not interested in the mission and would like it to go away . I don't think there will be any willing coverage on their part.-the strategy of quieting the voices for as long a time as possible will [to the populus] diminish the message and forward movement. So I think alliances need to be made and activities to reveal the record of K need to remain repetitive and consistant . It's NEVER EVER FORGET, the snake needs to be contained and put on public display.

11/3/04: kerry's Concession speech
Quote:
“...Earlier today, I spoke to President Bush, ..... and we talked about the danger of division in our country and the need – the desperate need – for unity, for finding the common ground, coming together...
...
We are required now to work together for the good of our country. In the days ahead, we must find common cause. We must join in common effort without remorse or recrimination, without anger or rancor. America is in need of unity....
...
I pledge to do my part to try to bridge the partisan divide...”

6 days after the above speech: 11/9/04 - WaPo and Boston Globe
Quote:
...Aides said Kerry is relishing the prospect of renewed combat with President Bush... ...The friends and aides said he wants to use his new following and credibility to become a major force... He is weighing whether to start a political action committee to advance his ideals... ....to elevate his role... He's going to... be a voice for the 55 million people who voted for him. The position he's in gives him a bully pulpit.

We all know enough things about kerry to strip him of all public office and send him off to the rockpile yesterday. But he isn’t taken down yet, and he just “keeps on giving.” Our country is at war. If you look at the comments in his concession speech it appears he understands that and makes great effort to show his concern for the nation in his “pledge” to “bridge the partisan divide” -- which is essential in our fighting this global war, to have a united front and to stand firmly with our president at home and in the eyes of the world. But from just those two above articles, 6 days after his “I love America speech” -- he’s right back where he always has been -- looking for personal power and this country be damned. His plans involve “him” “him” and “him.”

He’s “relishing the prospect of renewed combat with President Bush..”?? Shocked I think this hostile agenda is even worse than his dream of being a “major force” and “advancing his ideals.” Combat with the president? What does that mean? Argue the military budget? Gum up changes that need to be put through? Cause problems as much as possible? Be contrary for the joy of it? We are at war. Who are we fighting? Who are the bad guys? Who attacked us? The Republicans?? Who should we be fighting?

Is there anyone in the democratic party that can remind that irresponsible, juvenile, unstable man that our country is more important than his personal goals? The election is over -- rather than consider what contribution he might make in helping this administration (as he said 6 days ago) care for and protect this country, his initial plans on returning to the Senate are to have “combat with the president.” It is not only Kerry’s past that condemns him, it is his immediate present. He just won’t stop.

I very much doubt that we'll see Kerry around in '08. First, more is bound to come out about the honorable-discharge-that-wasn't, and the MSM will dig deeper into the Paris NV contacts. The whole premise of his 'Reporting for duty' theme will have been rendered laughable.

Further, after the Dems settle down from their current rage and preposterous 'secession' rants, cooler heads will prevail and a search will begin for a more centrist candidate. My betting is on Evan Bayh.

Oh, would that it be! Unfortunately, I think the days are long since gone when anyone in that party would do such a thing...who's going to do it - Zell? You've appropriately labeled it the democratic party in lower case...that is what it has become...

Yeah, since Kerry has been defeated, some of the weasels in the press will turn on him looking for reasons why. I would strongly expect that Bob Woodward of the WaPo will take that on since Kerry refused to talk to him during the campaign. One simply doesn't stiff the dean of the DC press corps without some penalty. Mad

Now that Kerry is talking 2008, there have to be other Democrats who are saying, "But I want to run in 2008". While it's too much to hope that the MSM will seek truth, they will be happy to be willing accomplices in sinking Kerry on behalf of other Democrats. Feed the ammunition!

Kerry could be the new Harold Stassen.

Even taking hillary out of the mix, I would be suprised if Kerry would be the rat nominee in 2008.

Rats (I think) learned their lesson with Adlai Stevenson.
He did worse the second time he was the party's nominee.
He damned near sabotoged John Kennedy's ultimate nomination.

Losers have a tendency to stay losers. ( Nixon perhaps the biggest exception )

I agree about no kerry in '08 -- What concerns me is kerry now, the damage he can do on a daily basis. Sounds like he thinks his voice is now imbued with a new & greater power -- and we've seen what "that voice" has done before. I am hoping that this is only delusional and that he is not backed by his party -- that the wounded animal will indeed swing around and go for his throat. Waiting to see evidence of this...

"After the dems settle down"? -- I'm waiting for evidence of this, also. "Cooler heads?" Could go either way. They could get WORSE... ?

A creepy aside: I caught a portion of something on C-Span last night, there was a man speaking at a podium, I recognized him but don't recall his name right now - don't recall what he was talking about -- either some new "gotcha" against Bush, or some old thing they "won" on -- a new or old allegation of some sort -- but it was something negative -- something dem vs republ. And behind him and to the side stood Pelosi, and as he spoke, Pelosi started to smile -- as he discussed the "problem," her smile got bigger. Perhaps she had played a role in whatever the speech was about, I don't know... but all I was left with was a sort of disgust and uneasiness in looking at her smiling face. She was enjoying this -- this was a triumph for her. Sorry I don't recall the issue! But the fact that she was smiling was out of place and that's what stuck with me.

It reminded me of Kennedy during the prison scandal on the Senate Committee when he was questioning some military personnel -- I had that same disgust -- his body language was unmistakable -- he was squirming in his seat with a contained joy, his voice was cracking and excited as he pulled out some large pictures he had had blown up from the newspaper, and he held up his "evidence", attacking the people he was questionning, building up to what I knew was coming, knew what he was after -- and then he said it -- this behavior can surely be traced up the chain of command; these scandalous activities surely are approved policies of the administration... These surely are not the actions of a few -- this is gov't and military policy....

Perhaps on a local level people can be more involved in not allowing rad-left candidates from being elected... and this will be good for the future -- for the democratic party and for the country. But I am searching to find some optimism with what that party has in place right now with regards to our national security.
