I have always been told that a Vet is anyone who served in the military. My Dad was in the Korean War. My DH served after Vietnam.
A friend of mine said that only people who went to war are vets that anyone who serves in the military without going to war is not a Vet.
Is this true? |

No, your friend is incorrect.
We might not all be combat vets - most of us aren't, in fact.
But, a veteran is one who has served in the armed forces. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Thank you for answering this for me. After I posted the question I realized I could ask my DH who gave me the same answer.
