How does someone who has served stateside in the military volunteer to go to Iraq when they do not support the war, they think we are there for the oil, and they hate Bush and Rummie? This mysities me................ Confused

I think that I would like to know what motivates such an individual in the first place. He could prove to a real liability to his unit if his attitude is as he claims. I certainly wouldn't want any such in my company. Anyone who doesn't believe in the objectives of a mission shouldn't be part of it. Their negative attitude will get people killed as quick as an enemys bullet. Mad

Like I said in the other post, it's ALL about self-promotion. "I don't believe in what's going on in Iraq, but I won't get promoted unless I ACT like I do. OR "Great! They don't need my MOS in Iraq, but I'll make myself look good by "volunteering" anyway. With any luck, they'll see through this plastic, ribbon hunting coward and not endanger any of the real troopers by sending this moron over there !!! Maybe the Dems have offered him a deal. If he goes over there and documents "bad" stuff, then they will use it against the Repubs in the next election. He will be given "special attention" from the movers and shakers. A sweet deal from one traitor to another.
